Rich, I've never done a set myself - can you do the Valeo versions? I'll need to source a set of lights and let you know when I'm ready.

I certainly can do, the ones you see above are Valeo headlights. I managed to do that set quite nicely, very pleased with them! Thumbs up

Bought myself a new battery for her yesterday. A Bosch S4 Cold start battery after the cold killed the crappy Halfrauds one that was on there.

Managed to get £20 off bringing the price down to £63 (roughly) from Euros!
Now she starts absolutely fine now.

So, been a busy weekend what with changing a Gearbox on a Rover and also paying Colin at Pug performance a visit; All whilst having my son for the Easter Weekend.

I had only intended to go up to PP to gain a second opinion on what to do about my engine mount, but ended up buying some goodies (as you do Wink )

Got myself a Magnex Exhaust and a new Slam panel for a tidy sum! Smile
I fitted it whilst i was there and she sounds brilliant now, thankfully not too loud but enough to give a nice grunt when putting the power down. I will be fitting the new Slam panel when it has been cleaned up and painted i think.
No pictures for this one i'm sorry.

I also made a visit to Brighton for a meet which turned out to be a bit crap, smiles all round however when i took the car for a blast through the A27 tunnel, and a massive grin when this photo was taken:

Makes me feel mighty proud owning a Rallye!

Looks great. I'll have to give mine a good polish. Let me know next time you're around Brighton, only a 20mins drive for me and I'll bring my black Rallye!

Had some spare time on Sunday and the weather was good Razz So i got on with a couple of bits:

Changed over the old discs and pads to Brembos and painted the calliper:

Also removed the scuttle to find 2 - 3 inches of dirt and leaves behind there Wink
Before:

After:

Whilst all this was going on, my good friend Ash was vigorously cleaning the interior to well.... i could say showroom condition, It looks Awesome!!

We then started on the outside and lavishly bathed her in soap with a good polish after:

Since then i have toyed around with the idea of a standard air box and K & N filter as this Powerflow is too big and restricting the airflow to the car Sad

Bonnet badge is a no from me I'm afraid, black suited it better I think. Everything else looks spot on though.

Cheers guys Smile I kinda like it but at the same time i am still torn between the Red and black lol.

I have got an update for you though, i paid DaveyBoy a visit today in Southampton; intended to just get a quote for some welding from him but he helped me out by fitting a temporary plate in behind the buffers to stop so much engine movement. It also turns out i now have a crack in the mount base which also needs sorting.
So i now need to save up over the next several weeks - months.

The new plate sitting in behind the buffer:

So... A slight set back this morning on the way to Samass in greater London.
10 minutes into my journey and on the motorway my 6th gear s**ts itself!!!

That explains the shriek from the engine when I drove off this morning!!
Hopefully Matts gearbox from his Rallye is going spare so I can drop that in, might be able to also sort out my overly heavy clutch in the process.

Thankfully I made it the full 68 miles in 5th gear smashing my fuel economy.. Watch this space!

Yeah, thankfully.. Although the 4th gear is easily pushed out without using the clutch haha.
Definitely going to have to replace the box very soon!
