I have a beam and lots of new bits but it's very much a work in progress at the moment! Plus it's destined for my race car once completed... ________________________________________ Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 1Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 2 Lap of the 'ring |

Not much to elaborate on really. Its just a standard beam I have stripped, painted, and bought new bearings and seals for! Figured the one on my btcc car has seen better days so am building this one up to swap onto the car, if it ever works again. Then I had a kid, garage roof started leaking etc etc and so I haven't got round to putting it back together yet! Ash, if you could, it'd be much appreciated, will be down south sometime! ________________________________________ Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 1Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 2 Lap of the 'ring |

So the Touring cars apart from camber and toe changes, ran a pretty much standard rear beam setup? Did they retain torsion bars etc?________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. I sell new and used welding equipment in the Hampshire area. Yep, although with the solution f shocks the tb didn't do much, but they do with the Penskes... there are a few other little additions to the beam also but nothing life changing. ________________________________________ Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 1Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 2 Lap of the 'ring |

What thickness TBs and ARB are you running? Or is that classified? ________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. I sell new and used welding equipment in the Hampshire area. Nah, currently 23.5mm bars and the original touring car ARB which is like a sleeved standard bar. I'm not sure why they did the ARB like this, I can only assume regs. But I am likely to change ARB depending on circuit/conditions, as I have a standard bar, hybrid bar and 30mm bar, plus this original btcc one. Might possibly change tb's too depending on circuits, depends a lot on if the shocks have the scope to cope with smaller bars in or not. Its going to be a lot of trial and error once it's up and running again, although a suspension place near me seems to be a firm believer that softer spring rates and thicker ARB's is the way to go, and has the results to back it up too. ________________________________________ Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 1Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 2 Lap of the 'ring |

That rings true with a conversation I had with a guy from Aurok the Ohlins dealers, he was horrified when I told him I was intending to run 25mm bars and said with the right dampers there was no way I needed to run such a stiff TB. Interesting.________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. I sell new and used welding equipment in the Hampshire area. What do you run up front? And do the touring cars use aluminium uprights or stock cast iron jobbies?________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. There's an adjustable blade style front arb with 2 different thickness bars. Hubs are standard iron jobs as per the regs. ________________________________________ Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 1Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 2 Lap of the 'ring |
