i'm currently having a set of hard polyurethene bushes made up for the p bush bracket,

i have bought the ally p bushes for the berlingo/partner, pressed out the rubber bush and replacing the rubber bush with

poly also the front wishbone bush will be done the same way with a steel sleeve as per the standard setup

a friend of mine builds/repairs/maintains black cabs and machines bushes for a more permanent solution, as the soft

rubber s**te you get these days doesn't last, anyway he has told me that he barely has to change them now

i know the ride will be alot harder, i have driven a 6 that has had roller bearing conversion and i love the way they

transform the feel of the car

my only worry is the grade of the poly we are using is very hard and i fear they may break/crack

well my mate that does the black cabs hasn't had a broken one yet, nearly 2 tons of taxi doing 1000's of hard miles

on our edinburgh pot hole ridden roads, but i'm just a bit paranoid tbh lol!

think they'l be ok, will put pics up once they've been made

cost wise, i bought 2 aluminium p bushes from Peugeot - £62 incl vat

polyurethene - £nowt!!

few beer tokens for my mate who machines them on his lathe

ps, i'm also in the process of welding up the rear mounts, just trying to figure out a way to make a jig

i must admit i never thought solid mounts/bushes were a good idea for a road car but i have driven a 6 with solid front

and rear and was really impressed, yes the ride's harder but not too hard that its unbearable

Hmm , sounds like an interesting idea, I'd definitely be interested if the price is right (and maybe after you'd road tested then for a few miles lol

Sound like a good compromise between standard and RB's

well i should have them on by the end of the week so will keep you informed as to how they perform

if they turn out to be any good we will make up a batch, for peeps to try.

the hardest bit is workin out the clearance fit, ie, they obviously have to be an interferance fit in the alumimium

bracket but the wishbone pin cant be too tight a fit or they'll wear out quite quickly i would have thought

I really would recommend just taking the plunge and getting rollerbearing bushes.

I'd disagree with that. The tugging of the wheel only happens on specific road conditions (lines worn in to the road so the car tries to tramline.

They do transmit a little more noise but nowhere near enough to rule them out.

IMHO they are the single best mod you can fit to a 306.

Cheers for the part number ! 3523 83

I'm with Craig ( smegal) on this. Rbs are one of the best upgrades you can put on a 6.

So much so, i've already bought a set for my china Thumbs up

price update lol, they were actually £48, apparanty they couldn't

give me trade discount because they are special order

i originally bought 2 different sets off ebay but twice they sent

me the normal steel p bushes so i gave up and went straight

to peugeot.

Anyway my bushes are finally made, will be fitting tomorrow

Depends how many miles you do on the road.

AgreedYes

They do give you great handling but if you use your car daily/to get to work they make it way too harsh IMOThumbs down

I had to get rid of mine as I was on the verge of selling the car due to the ride being so harshSad

Could be the combination of Konis/Eibachs and 205/45 16's all together that made it so hatefullDunno

But the RB bushes were what pushed it over the edge for sure.

Would highly reccomend them for a track car though,as they do tighten up the front end alotThumbs up

I have driven a rallye on 205 45 and AST's and it didn't feel anything like a RJ wishboned standard wheeled rallye.

the AST'd car felt tighter but not harsh.

have you driven yours much since ditching them Kev?

i have driven eddiebeanos car (totally solidified front and rear!) a few times and yes the ride is harsher

but imo its not unbearable, end of the day it depends how you want it but i'm defo going for similar setup

even though mine is my daily driver, for now anyway until i get a new family run about!

You can't judge that by driving a car once or twice.

I loved mine for the first week, but then it soon starts to grind on youYes

Weekend car/track car would prob be bearable, but not a daily driverNo
