Thinking of getting made my own rear anti roll bar here in Australia. Does anyone know the type of steel that is required to make them? I was thinking of using 4130 Chromoly steel would this suit? Or is it a certain spring steel? |

Hi Phil are the TB the same deal in materials tempers as the ARB's? Also do they both need to be hung vertical? They guy I was going to use can only lay the bars horizontal in the oven - the oven does not have enough height. |

Pretty much, yes, vertical would be ideal, if you can't do that, I would support the length on a rack and let the splines hang, more important would be being careful with the quench. Perhaps easier would be to find someone with carbide involute tooling and buy it and cut it in the 'T' temper straight from the mill? ________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments.
