And the silicone pipe on the left is solid as the inside has metal fitted inside Smile, so it won't squeeze or suck in

Yeah mine was like that with a few silicones on the joins but could not get sucked in either.

Mine was also like that on low boost...

Had quite a few issues with the running of the car when the silicone was being sucked in. As soon as I fixed this issue, the problems went away with stalling and the like. Wink

Since putting the lightened flywheel and pully on mine stalls easy and sometimes cuts out if you drop the revs to quick while moving. No fault codes either :/ and ICV clean etc as well... Can only get worse when I finish charging it I immagine but will have to see. Only one place that can suck in on mine and I plan to sort soon either with rings or solid 45 degree pipe.

Armzs16 - The problem will be more pronounced with the lighter running gear as there is now less inertia to keep the engine turning. Yes

There are a couple of ways you can get round this problem. Yes

You can either change your driving style to suit the technical changes when slowing down and/or change to the later map (not sure if you already have this) which has been modified by Wayne to cut down on the stalling. Yes

By sorting out the place where you have a pipe collapsing under vacuum will also help out quite a bit.

Funnily enough, this stalling is a very common issue, although once I sorted out the collapsing hose, it never missed a beat after that or stalled, however people who have done the same, the problem still exists on most.

I'm a big believer that the stalling issue is due to the icv not being able to flow enough air so the vacuum slows the engine too quickly. Has anyone looked at either a bigger icv or even dual icv'sGeek

Wayne, the ICV is the issue. On a standard car, it controls the air flow in the plenum that's all.

On the SC cars, the same ICV has to control the air flow in the plenum, the intercooler and all the connecting pipework which is obviously a much larger surface area. Dual ICV's could be a solution, I don't run an ICV on my car as the setup is different but it's definitely an idea to think about the majority of the SC cars. Yes

Oh so that explains why the larger high boost intercooler is considered worse for the stalling then.

Out of interest how much would it cost/ how hard would it be to get an icv setup that works on these?

mine does stall sometimes, if you have been gunning it then stop for junction not all the time, never done it low boost with small icooler

when i had mine mapped at waynes, he just made my idle slightly higher so doesnt do it as bad

It is. Anything over 3k rpm on a high boost and dip the clutch it will stall. Yes
