I have 2.5" pipework and a mahoosive intercooler which certainly does make it worse! I had dodgy cam timing when I first did the conversion so now it seems fantastic by comparison! I'd say give it a couple more weeks before you think about doing anything, especially a new map c.£400 :S________________________________________ There are only 10 kinds of people in this world, those that understand binary and those that don't... |

To be fair what you said to do has made it alot better and I am very thankful to you for that great advice, im sure in time I will get used to it and it will be like the problem doesn't exist anymore. But on the plus side I think it is still a worthwhile conversion and is great fun ________________________________________ supercharged China gti6 - Thu 16th Sep 1999 - sold2010 megane rs250 |

Yes thanks it was a stupid mistake with the cambelt by myself, had it checked by an ''expert" who said it was fine... Rich and Nick were incredibly patient with me to be fair and got it all sorted out in no time! Now I absolutely love it. Just getting a new full 2.5" exhaust fitted finally as it blew up the standard cat How long has yours been charged?________________________________________ There are only 10 kinds of people in this world, those that understand binary and those that don't... |

I had the same issues with mine with the big intercooler and pipework on low boost but the newMap improved it and after a few weeks I got used to not dipping the clutch too early, I do think it makes better power with the bigger pipework though and a remap should sort it. That was the main reason I took it down to lynx, I thought I might aswell of gone super high boost while I was there I loved the low boost conversion though, it was more fun in a way than super high boost, and it felt very reliable all round, as it is now im expecting the engine to rip the mounts out of the chassis or the gearbox to disintegrate any moment ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

Yeah true I had the new map at the same time as the problem solving, and it idles a lot better and doesn't make me look a fool as often. Nick said yours and mine both felt like faster examples despite our not so good exhaust systems so I think you're right! Is yours mapped yet? I'm eagerly waiting proper vids! Looked immense when I saw it getting the new charger ________________________________________ There are only 10 kinds of people in this world, those that understand binary and those that don't... |

it's going to happen very soon, I'm just adding a few final Touches and I've been sorting a few small issues, my exhaust is one thing I'm thinking of changing for something new and unique and the same with the intercooler. I got caught speeding a couple of months back and have just received the summons today, so I'll see what happens there first was yours at lynx while mine was there? ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

Sweet, keep us posted! Aw s**t man, it is difficult to resist the temptation of the loud pedal on low boost never mind super high. Hope it comes out alright, was it a great many leptons over the limit if you don't mind me asking? Yeah, mine was only there for a couple of days while they sorted out my muppetry though. Clocked the car then saw the jet engine waiting to go in ________________________________________ There are only 10 kinds of people in this world, those that understand binary and those that don't... |

I've been charged about 2 months, seems we have very similar setups as I also currently have a standard exhaust and cat in place however Miles is doing me a full 2.5" system too. Will be interesting to see what (if any) difference the new system makes ________________________________________ supercharged China gti6 - Thu 16th Sep 1999 - sold2010 megane rs250 |

I agree though, everytime I drive it I think I'm going to break it, maybe I did with low boost but after 2 years of owning it you forget it's modified. if it breaks you fix it simple, drive it like you stole it!! worse when the cars stripped out an got the cage, i jump in the rallye an just wanna go wild as feel like your in a race car lol, thats reason why it has been off the road as safer for the general public, although shes taxed for the summer ________________________________________ In my garage just now2003 BMW M3 & 2009 L200 Raging Bull & Audi Q5 S Line AX stock rod & Saxo Stock rod Sold the bike an charged rallye an bought a caravan, midlife crisis or what! |

Yeah good luck Andy, at least it doesn't say in the 50. Typical it wasn't in the '6 m306 I just picked mine up this morning with the new exhaust, it is definately noticeable! Fires through the higher revs much easier and feels much less restricted, it is quite a bit louder though and I have fairly large boxes.... nice noise though Agree with Chris, especially on low boost because the whole engine can be replaced fairly cheaply if you do manage to ruin it! For the performance it is cheap motoring really! ________________________________________ There are only 10 kinds of people in this world, those that understand binary and those that don't... |

Ah bugger, read it wrong! Good luck mate. Paul I got a custom 2.5" mandrel bent system with interchangeable cat/decat over in Pewsey, used to be Longlife Amesbury. Cannot recommend them highly enough and the system is beautiful, seems a shame to hide it under the car ________________________________________ There are only 10 kinds of people in this world, those that understand binary and those that don't... |

Yes my pipework cracked but the engine mount had come loose so it was rocking around. After repairing it and Fixing the top engine mount it was sound but I didn't have it long before going high boost. ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |
