Yes, I think you're right Bob around 12-13 sec quarter mile is what I would predict with a great launch. Yes

As you say, the midrange is savage, you can come out of a bend in 3rd gear and just let it have it through the gears all the way up to 6th @ 160mph so easily. Thing is, at that sort of speed you wonder whether the car was really built to go this fast or whether its going to shake apart...LOL

The equation of adding more power to your engine is a very simple one more air more fuel equals more power sorry for mentioning 235 bhp but subject to the RR result it will be more than 235 so you wont want to eat my hands just yet.Lets get this straight i am no engine tuner or claim to be but i must be doing something right to get these figuers but never mind.

Stan But that is why you have uprated your suspension and other components to give your car the balanced set up it needs to cope with the power you have power is nothing without control.

I would agree Bob, if you are genuinely getting those figures then you are definitely doing something very right.

What's worrying me is that nobody else since the engine's arrival in 1996 has been able to do this...so you're either a complete genius or the figures have been miscalculated. Without further info, its impossible to tell which one it is.

I am not a tuning god or a genius but i mayhave come across this by fluke to be totally honest and the figuers i am quoting shock even the rolling road tuners not just folk on here i have not just achived these figuers on one engine ive had them on several engines so i can safely say my mods are working mind you i have blown 2 engines whilst in the process but i think im finally there i hope.

So Bob, Im coming at this form another angle.
How much has the spec cost you?
Is all of it off the shelf?
Is it still a 2 litre?
How much would you market it for?
How many miles has it been at that power?

Without going into very detailed spec as you dont want to, what's the rough spec then of your engine? Rr printout, wheel horse power, torque curve, torque figures etc. if you can give all of this which you should be able to if it's all true and no bulls**t then I'll believe you.

Both on your current 235 and forthcoming 250 engine

Have you had your ECU reprogrammed to reflect the changes?

As I am no engine expert, but I know that more air and fuel = more power, granted but is everything else ok to cope with that?

Hate to say it, but guess not as you have blown 2 engines, and who knows how long the current one will last Doh

I am pretty sure I could make my car run over 300bhp within 5 minutes work, but I think the pistons would melt after about 50 miles Laugh

Rich_W 'retired' a few engines before perfecting his setup, I don't see anyone doubting his credentials...However, his design is proven, which is where Bobs falls down, for all his talk of 235 horsepowerz has anyone seen one shred of supporting evidence? I'd love to find a way to do all he says he's done for a fraction of the cost it's likely to set me back, but so far this thread is just another lenghtly stream of badly spelt, horrificly structured, innane drivel from a timewasting tit. Thumbs down

Just clear up a few points on here, please see power graphs, the Northampton Motorsport power figure was used as this was more relevant as we added the flowed throttle housing at Northampton, and found a bit more power.

The cams used were Cat Cams 4093106
http://www.shop.pug1off.com/product_info.php/cPath/51_62/products_id/172

These were initially given to us By Cat Cams for testing and this package was formed off the back of that.

Regarding the addition of throttle bodies, this would possibly add a bit of power but you would still only see around 205bhp if you were lucky. This setup was designed to offer a good cost effective driveable up-grade without the need for more expensive throttle bodies and management, to make the most out of a throttle body setup on this engine you would need more aggresive cams which would require the addidion of up-rated valve springs and piston cutouts at the least.

Any queries please feel free to call on 01280 701919

Interesting question Meirion, from what I've read in the past the Cat Cams are actually a better buy than the equivalent Kent ones and the results are usually better. Yes
