They all have a random tap every now and then but if its happening everytime you thrash it then your oil could be to hot or not enough oil pressure. Not tried additives tbh. ________________________________________ ***Breaking*** Ph3 Silver GTI 6 High Boost |

Mine getter tappier when nearing an oil change, lets you know when to do it though which is nice... Should get quieter with fresh oil. Only use a genuine pug filter though as they have a non return valve in. Don't let the cambelt snap our slip either our else you will have a permanant tapper... ________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

Might sort out your tap to a degree as the oil won't drain out the filter giving the pump more to circulate. Keep us posted what happens on oil change with genuine filter. ________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

Its not so much that the pump has more to circulate but the fact that there is oil stored in a higher location which can make its way to the head much quicker. If you have lazy tappets the hydraulic lifter treatments are very good. Just make sure you put it in just before an oil change so that once it has done its job you can change the oil and filter for new and hopefully have no more problems. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Would you suggest something like Wynn's? Or is there a preffered brand? ________________________________________ |

Just a quicky, it may also be worth looking to see if a plug is tad loose, had this a few months ago, it caused me an intermittent tap. Albeit, after a couple of weeks it developed into what sounded like a genuine tapper. Its free and thus worth a look.________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

Good point about loose plugs Aaron. I normally use Wynns products and they seem to be of high quality. I would recommend them. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Put it the old oil first and then run the engine for about 30 mins at 3000rpm I believe it is (will state exact figures in the instructions) and then drain oil, change filter and refill with new oil. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Usually the plug closest to the cambelt.I'd also use Total Quartz 9000 fully synth from Peugeot instead of a semi synth as original. Mine always seemed to run better on it - was recommended by Mr Chambers Also can be pretty cheap if you buy it in 20L tubs - £40 odd iirc ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

Speak to Warners Peugeot in Tewkesbury about the tub, if they don't deliver then try to get your local Peugeot place to price match. Or have a look on Opie Oils as they often have good deals. ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

I shall do cheers adam I have checked the plugs and they are resonably tight though the second one in from the cambelt side was a tad loose if that would make any difference? ________________________________________ A red rallye in progress! |
