I should have put a deposit down on that charge kit that came up, or got a loan. Shotgun the next kit that comes up LOL If you manage to get hold of a B8/Eibach kit off the for sale section before me, I will hunt you down!

I put my rear beam on today, on my own somehow, with the help of two trolley jacks and two scissors plus enough swearing to warrant my neighbours coming out as they thought that something had fallen on me and I was in need of assistance. But it was worth the headwork, I chucked the wheels on temp just to see what it looks like and I was grinning all day. I can't wait to drive it, it will be so much better than the collection of loose metal that was once my rear end.

Yeah the beams are identical, just you had new bars and I had 2nd hand. My project is on a budget, or at least I tried to. I can't tell anyone how much I paid for the beam as it hurts to say it, it's worth it though (In my mind)

Ah nice, brand new shocks then or picked them up off here? I've got the fuel tank and exhaust to go back on and then it is onto the front end. Same overhaul as your doing, pretty much new everything plus upper and lower braces and I got some nice 406 Brembo's to throw on there to stop it.

I picked up a Jetex system of Roland a couple of months back, perfect for a low boost setup (once I find one on here)

I had a motorfactor one I sold the other week for £40 from the cat back, it had only done about 5k aswell

Its likely i will go jetex, I was very impressed by the longlife on the lowboost though.
Shockers are new, were 313 in the end (theyve gone up recently)
I know what you mean, The shiny bits add up but at least its half of your suspension fresh as a daisy.
Upper brace is the only thing im not sure about yet, I will wait until Phillipm hurrys up I reckon haha...

With a bit of luck (By that I mean it better happen) I will never have to touch the rear beam again, unless I chuck a hybrid in the mix, but not sure yet. Jesus, with springs thats 420 then? Plus new bushes, roller bushes, TRE, drop links I'm throwing £700 at the front end now.

I'm just planning on getting everything else done so once I get some spare cash it's low boost and that's all I have to do. Just write it off on the first corner on a track then and it's job done!

Eliot regarding the brakes, i got a mail from Nico a while back where he assured me that he did not use those special inserts you talked about last time. Just the citroen sport fitting kit, the calipers, 207 RC discs, and subaru sti pads. That's all, I am looking now where i can get the best price for discs and pads. Found Zimmerman sport discs (drilled) for 160€ the pair and the pads... well it is either 150€ for Brembo sport ones or 200€ for Ferrodo DS performance ones. If you come around any cheper or better solutions say as a kit for example let me know Thumbs up

Well thats good news then!!
I will likely use the alloy inserts regardless if in expensive as they would be nice to have,
Any Idea what Subaru Sti pads exactly? Or are they all the same?
I assume he used them because there are likely better compounds than 807 v6 ones?

I absolutely need those brakes fitted first though as the standard ones just wouldn't cope imo.

That maybe so,
But i'd feel a lot more comfortable having big **** off brakes to hand,

And I dont really see the point investig (Wasting) money in the standard stuff when I already have everything necessary to fit the 807 bits,
Same reason as why I cba to buy and more 15" tyres,
Second they are done im 16"

Problem is i don't want to strip the calipers while they are brand spanking new.... and also the inserts look identical to the ones in the pdf you provided. I'll go and see if there is a part number on the piston rings. I think that if you buy them as C2R2 asphalt calipers they already come with the right inserts. As again on the pdf the pistons dont seem to come out more than the normal ones.

@ roland
Been told that too by Carl, but I guess one likes to show off the 4 pots behind some nice wheels Cool

Reading your project thread reminds me of myself LOL had a set of B8 front dampers for the best part of 18 months, only in the last month have I started buying everything else for a complete overhaul. Expensive, but I'm sure it will be worth it.

I'm not sure what has happened but it seems that since the new year, everyone is cracking on with what they have been waiting to do for a while. My car has been sat idle for over two years and only January did I start work on it!

A high boost 306 came up for sale here and here's to hoping it get's broken, I want that engine!

I need to do something to mine, sick of looking at piles of bits all over the house.

Living room...

Well I get my tax rebate at the end of this month/start of the next so I'm ploughing it all into my car. I may take the money straight out of the bank and then just put the money in my car so it's allocated already. I need a telly, new clothes, a new drill for work, a load of hand tools and I literally couldn't care less if it means I can get my hands on a HBSC 6.

I'll arry on, bored in bed, wearing s**tty clothes and struggling like hell in work if I have to Smile
