Pulleys are the same. Yes

ICV pipe goes from the main intake pipe (where the filter is) to the ICV itself.

Hmmm maybe its missing and that's your problem?
It's attached the throttle body and is kinda underneath the cable. Has a little pipe connected to it.

Look at your throttle body the icv I on the back of that ? It's black and held in with 2 m8 or m10 bolts. You can change it or try cleaning it ?

right heres the crack

i had a 306 1.6. gearbox kinda exploded...
so looking on ebay found a guy who sold me a gti6 engine conversion kit... ecu, loom, gearbox etc...

so then i converted to the gti spec....
suspension brakes exhaust, subframe steering rack etc

whilst i had engine out i thought id wack some wossner pistons in, n do the whole shabang n replace all the bits that wear..

bigends smallends
stem seals..
new gaskets
new crank n cam seals
cambelt
auxbelt
had engine block bored out
had head skimmed
flywheel skimmed
valves lapped
new clutch (proformance)
everything has been cleaned
and serviced it
got ecu programmed to key...

n boom it started...

but.....

its running shit, its idling at 20 then slowly dies n cuts out....
HELP

Fuel and smoke dripping out of the throttle body...Erm?

By fitting the Wossner pistons have you altered the compression ratio?

Yes, you should be swapping the fuel pump over to the GTi-6 one. Yes

When you say the pistons are high compression ones, what compression figure do they actually give? The standard pistons give a compression ratio of 10.8:1. If the pistons you have installed have altered this then the engine's mapping will need to be changed to accomodate this.

And to answer you other question.

High compression is for na engines the higher compression the more efficient the mix of air and fuel become which produces more power.

Low compression is for turbos- your throwing compressed air into the chamber.

That's the basic explanation anyway someone else could probably tear that apart Wink
