I got into an accident and crumpled the rear quarter panel, and partially the corner of the boot. the car still drives straight though, so fingers crossed its fine, and i can just get the boot pulled out, and a new quarter panel. Is it possible to replace the rear quarter panel, how hard is it, if i get it done somewhere, is is likely to be expensive? |

Definitely not worth it. Based on the damage you've described it'll be at least £1500 to fix at a garage.A new rear side panel for a Rallye is £611 from Peugeot, and then you have to add on labour and painting costs. IMO your best option is to recover as much as you can through breaking it. ________________________________________ Rich |

if you can do a lot of the labour yourself you can save a few quid but if it isn't anything special i'd break it. mammoth job really and doesn't financially make sense________________________________________ 306 rallye reproduction decals (full sets/individual decals) | 306 b-pillar textured vinyl weatherstrips306 slam panel esso stickers | 306 yellow / orange / pension fund red side door badges gti6 inlet manifold badges | 306 rear boot badges (p2/p3) winner of Extraction of toys from prams with outstanding vigour award 2009 [source: gti6 owners club] |

Can you not get a pattern quarter panel, or take one off an existing car and weld it onto the new one?I found one on ebay for £100 (http://bit.ly/AuKsRi), still fitting and painting will be a few hundred quid? I also need to replace the rear bumper, boot strip, front bumper, front wing, and grille too. Tempted to break it. |

Cheers rikky, just saw your post. problem is that im at uni in plymouth and the cars at home in herts, so havent got time to break it. its a bianca white 306 rallye, 112,000 miles, was mint. now isnt. Has anyone broken one before and recouped that much cash? How much would i be looking at? |

i made nearly a grand breaking a shit silver six. depends how much you sell, if you have the space etc and iif you have the time to do it all. gets tedious and annoying dealing with bellends but works out alright, plus you'll end up with about £120-160 for the shell at the end of it..________________________________________ 306 rallye reproduction decals (full sets/individual decals) | 306 b-pillar textured vinyl weatherstrips306 slam panel esso stickers | 306 yellow / orange / pension fund red side door badges gti6 inlet manifold badges | 306 rear boot badges (p2/p3) winner of Extraction of toys from prams with outstanding vigour award 2009 [source: gti6 owners club] |

If i can get it back to plymouth i would break it. But its in hertfordshire, so getting it back will be hard. I dont think that the breakdown people will tow me back to plymouth for free, because my cars registered to my home address. Might just sell it as it is. If it was at uni, i think i could get it sorted for £600. But as it isnt, i would take that for it as it stands, or PX a decent diesel shed. |

Someone would probably give you circa £600 for it if it is Mint as you say otherwise? Shame for it to be broken up but sadly these cars are getting on a bit now and its not got to the point where people are falling over each other trying to get hold of them. ________________________________________ I Live for the 306TEAM CHERRY PINK RALLYE 2008 BMW ///M 320d |

Just taken some photos. Can't see any structural damage apart from the boot floor. It still drives straight, and the front chassis leg looks un affected, as does the rear wheel arch. Gallery Below, Opinions? http://imgur.com/a/Xqcd5#0 |

Thats fixable but probably "uneconomical" to repair, front end looks easy enough to fix, quarter panel might be able to be straightened -you would have to ask a bodyshop but it depends how bad the boot floor is, I would buy back off insurance ask how much to straighten back end and if its not too much you could get bumpers, wing and front light off here for not much, I have driven and Mot'd worse tbh , or else break it, shame to kill a white rallye though________________________________________ Team Supercharged Gti-6™ |

This is the biggest problem, sledgehammer and replacement bumper ftw! Edit,, it don't look that bad tbh, similar to Carls when he kissed an armco at the ring and he fixed his , got any pics of the boot floor from inside the car? (sorry just noticed there are pics ) ________________________________________ Team Supercharged Gti-6™ |

If it still drives straight as he says I reckon you could spend a day on that, replace bumpers, light, slam panel and wing, then pull out most of the dent -write "ouch" on the dent and you would have a perfectly usable Rallye, might not look pretty but would be at least saved, main problem would be getting parts in the right colour, both bumpers £150? wing £50? light £30? slam panel £20? certainly you could get it back on the road as a usable car for less than £500 if you can replace the bolt on parts yourself ________________________________________ Team Supercharged Gti-6™ |

I agree dave i think i could probably make it drivable again. i might strip the bumpers and wing tomorrow then try to pull out the dent on the rear panel. Further on in the album theres two pictures of the boot floor... If i had the car at uni i would get it fixed, if i got the boot straightened, and a new quarter panel, i could do the rest, but its at home and i cant stick around for it i dont think. i still may get someone to do it locally, i will get quotes on monday for boot and panel. |

If you could get the boot floor straightened with a porta power or similar, you might find that the dent in the quarter panel could be beat out and repainted, it's suprising what dents they can get out, then the little panel between the tailgate and bumper could just be filled and repainted ________________________________________ Team Supercharged Gti-6™ |
