i think ive been gravelyy misunderstood here Razz

i have owned and still do own a phase 1 white 1.4 5 door 306

i also own (about 4 months now) a phase 1 white one gti6 (ex silverstone)

ive learnt a fair few lessons from my 1.4 about preventative maintenance and how weight reduction helps a lot in the quest from more mpg.

i dont want a stripped out gti this time, i like the leather/comfort Smile

so im just asking for advice on what to look for.

im doing weight reduction in this car but not to the extent of my 1.4. problem is most things that dont reduce comfort are pretty pricey. carbon fibre bonnet, plastic windows, new seats

on a mad side note does anyone know how heavy the gti6 seat are? i want to weigh up weight savings compared to price

Are you Any further on with the flux capacitor project mate?
It will be interesting, Its good that you can think of and do such a thing wether it works or not, although it shows how old the cars are now, nobody would of done such a project to a 6 10 years ago.

yeah i suppose not. Then again i am a weird one. I like trying what other people havn't. I know a turbo or throttle bodies or cams etc would get me the power gains because its been done (to death, in my mind) i enjoys my experiments, even if they come to a dead end. Smile Also 10 years ago the gti was better in comparison to that era of cars. Im not saying the gti isnt any good anymore, i love mine to bits and its blitzed every other new hot hatch Big grin. But there's always room for improvement.
