That's the bolts more than anything, and the balls in the joints are oversized compared to the bore too, the links themselves only weigh ~96 grams IIRC________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. I think it's possible, but they would have to be thinwall T45 or similar to be up to the job and still light enough. For the 100 grams difference it's probably not worth the hassle.Typo, 10 grams difference ________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. Just had a bit of a setback, waiting for clarification. Been quoted a price for parts and asked if I needed the rod ends. Don't know if they're confused as I was originally only asking about fab'd turnbuckles but if the price doesn't include rod ends it's going to get very expensive very quickly.Just waiting for an email back now. Their catalogue shows the turnbuckles with rod ends so I hope it's not just the bars at that price! ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Right just had the bad news, no the turnbuckles dont include rod ends, would have to get them separately. Their catalogue is a bit, well, misleading, although they did seem rather cheap! Will have a rethink about costs and let people know. May just give people the choice of PTFE/bronze or PTFE/kevlar lined rod ends and let them decide. The PTFE/kevlar ones are going to be about £15 more than the PTFE/bronze ones. ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Best not put the paint on too thick either Sounds like they've Owained your quotes right up Chris! ________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. Right, sorry fellas but going to have to cancel this. Finally got a reply and even with a group discount we'd be talking around the £110 mark delivered to your door, so not really worth it considering Phil's aren't much more and are much shinier. I'll happily point people in the right direction if they want to make their own but a lot of misleading advertising on the supplier's part means the original price has doubled. Gah. ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Right, good news everyone!Ive managed to knock them down on price a bit. They're more expensive than i originally thought but if i get ten definite names i can supply these for £77 posted for the ptfe/kevlar ones or £68 posted for the ptfe/bronze ones. If more than ten people want them they will be the same price over and above this only during the group buy. After it's done it'd be roughly £105 a set delivered. It's a pretty hefty discount they've offered, around 25%, so it's a good opportunity! I would however need payment in full from everyone before i could place the order as i don't have much cash spare. Ive ordered one set for tomorrow so i can road test them. In the mean time if anyone still interested could add their names to the new list i will probably leave it running til the start of November before making them. Expect delivery of them within 5 days of the group buy ending. ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

they're here!Think they're almost definitely heavier than Phil's now i've had a set in my hands but they feel really good quality. Clearance seems fine even with the spacers too so all's good. Got them on my car for the weekend, will report back on any findings over the next few days. Lovely jubbly As a definite, will be about £77 for these posted now i've confirmed postage costs etc. The ones above are the kevlar/ptfe ones, can get cheaper bronze joints instead though if anyone's not arsed. ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |
