Some time in the next six months i thinking of doing one or the other to the rallye, just wondered what people opinions are, what are they like to live with how much fun on country lanes and bypass. just general pro's and con's.has anyone had both on a car?(obviously not at the same time lol)thanks ________________________________________ white rallyecherry dead rallye s16 |

more bang for your buck with a blower, but high compression engine with cams and bodies is a nice setup. For a Road car I'd boost it, but for track use go for bodies and cams. ________________________________________ L reg "black and blue" phase 1 track 6 |

mm i do love the sound of a high reving N/A engine , reminds me of mk2 escorts coming out the forest rallying but the more bhp of a blower is appealing..hmmm ________________________________________ white rallyecherry dead rallye s16 |

bigbadbowen wrote: Nothing beats the noise of bodies dude +1 If you do go ahead with either conversion I recommend only use the car as a weekend car. My S16 would kill me if I used her to get to work and back every day Also just the minor issues will bump into every day such as overheating in traffic etc etc. ________________________________________ Ph1 Cossack 6 |

Best thing for you to do it go out in a TB setup and a SC and see what suits you before you spend all the money. |

Or go balls out and run a blown itb setup As said, road use a charger, track use bodies. Every Tom, Dick and Harry has a Rotrex these days though, bodies FTW ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

I'd say blower. And there are a couple of cheap sets around.I may be willing to do a deal with someone for the high boost bits from the chrisd306's stuff.________________________________________ Ex SC-6Now in a Megane R26 |

I think with the bodies, you will need Cams and so on and becomes lumpy on idleSpeak to Rich_W he can sort you out with a kit or any parts you need |

If mapped properly and running ITB's idle and running should be fine. Mine was perfect before i changed the manifold to a maniflow, which has made it a little fluffy under 4k rpm but not to bad, just needs the map adjusting.________________________________________ 2.1 16v 306 Rallye. |

mr west wrote: Yeah i have seen the amount of kits about, thats what got me thinking.. why are many of you saying blowers are better road and bodies bettef for track,? Its about drivability. The blower gives good torque across most of the rev range, so is ideal on a road car. An engine on bodies and cams tends to generate power at higher rpm, which is OK on track but a bit hard work on a road car. ________________________________________ L reg "black and blue" phase 1 track 6 |

Jenveys all day long Bit pricey but they have been around for ever Steel crank - high comp pistons and rods - cams - head work - stand alone management slap on some 48's flute them to take 50s trumpets wise then a full on racing exhaust = job done Oh maybe diff and brake upgrade as well |
