Bought this on Thursday. It's one owner from new, owned by a doctor and driven mostly by his wife. His daily was an 06 plate BMW M3 and loved the car so much, him and his wife wanted to talk to me a lot to ensure it was definitely going to the right owner! So I stayed for a few coffees 120 miles away from home, just outside Aberdeen!

Some of you may know me, some of you might not. I am far from being new to pugs! I am the editor of PSCUK's Torque magazine and have never owned anything other than a pug. I currently own a 206 gti 180 (26,000 miles and now up for sale), a 41k mile 309 goodwood and an 88k mile 309 gti miami blue 3dr and of course the rallye.

Here's a few pics:

And the most important factor and what I always look for...

Believe it or not, this car has done 122k miles!!! You'd never know from the exterior. There's a few dimple sized dings, but nothing that can't be rectified.

Pics are in the dark as there are scheduled pics for me to take prior to a Brian-ised cleaning session. This is seriously mingin by my standards.

I've been on this forum for a long time and i'm sure the info on there and you lot will be of great help throughout my ownership! Oh, and I'm already good pals with "G." he's a good lad. If i was female, i'd make children for him.

Cheers,

Brian.

cheers guys!! I've not got any particular plans as such. It's had a peugeot alarm fitted from the dealership but is obviously now defunked and in need of a battery or whole siren etc, so that will be one of the first jobs. The clutch is a bit heavy and clutch has never been replaced so that's another job along with bearing, arm (or just clean up existing arm) and clutch cable.

Other than that, just clean it up as far as possible and enjoy driving it on a daily basis! I've got a few products to use on the paintwork to get it looking how it used to be. The wheels could do with brightening up again. But i'll see how the products i've got go on them then might refurb them in time. The driber's seat's been replaced by a gti-6 half leather number, but is in great nick! i still have the rallye one but it's in terrible nick. so might get BOTH front ones refurbed to match.

Oh and i got given 2 vrederstein tyres on steelies for the winter...excellent! I don't think this car is on the register yet either.

BrianM, looks as if you found a great motor that's looked after by its previous owner. Personally, if the car has all that history, I'd keep it standard. But it's you're money, you're life.

My join date is 01 May 2009...I've done the initiation ceremony patter! haha! HPI clear of course... mind you if a car gets chopped in half I wouldn't record it either with plans to sell on...eeekk. Oh the thought.

Thanks for your comments lads. Chris, I'm not stripping it! Would be a waste of time trying to keep up with your 1.4 8v 306 anyway!

As i say, the plans are to just give the thing a good clean and use it daily. The engine bay is particularly boggin. I'll give it a wee pressure wash and see where to go from there. Usual surface rust lurks in the usual areas!

Double posting on my thread?? How dare you Razz

I only bought the rallye so i could come on this forum and talk to you...i miss you Kev xoxox ...haha! I very much prefer the way the 306 drives. I had someone v. interested in the 206 on sunday but bailed on me because it was going to cost a 30+ year old with a wife and child £700 to insure for the year...bo***cks as me with 3yrs no claims and it's £460 or something! Rather annoying.

Here's a brighter pic of the car but still needs cleaned!
