Car week begins......First up I binned my old headunit and replaced it with a new one. Removed airbag ecu, cut my lower glove box so i can open it and tightened up the dash. Tried fitting a tinted sunstrip but gave up because it kept bubbling up.......so I binned it ________________________________________ Ph2 Black GTI 6!EX black 6 owner But now a Black caged rallye owner Hunting for Go faster bits! An eventful day i'll had. First the car decided not to start in the morning at first I thought it may be the battery but it wasn't it was something to do with my fuel pump and relay. Changed this and it was fine. Next I started taking the front end apart ![]() While I was at it i cleaned all the road grime and oil off the front of the engine and salt off the engine bay. I noticed that I had a slight leak on the driver side brake hose. Seeing as it had soaked in the paint and started to lift I took a gander and their was a bit of surface rust so..........I attacked it ![]() Tomorrow I will do some painting and sort my zorst out. ________________________________________ Ph2 Black GTI 6!EX black 6 owner But now a Black caged rallye owner Hunting for Go faster bits! hovis16 wrote: Tried fitting a tinted sunstrip but gave up because it kept bubbling up.......so I binned it Very lightly misting the glass with a tiny bit of water to make it damp helps, you then apply slowly and carefully and use the rubber bit of a window scraper, or a credit card or something to push bubbles out, the water sticks it but allows some sliding, and allows bubbles to be pushed out. Once it is in place just leave it to dry and it'll stick. It's definitely still a pain though. ________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |
