I upgraded my setup to KW v2 coilovers and a few other bits. For the road I have them on the softest setting and although they are awesome on the smooth roads, the bumpy backroads it doesnt handle as well as it used to on my Avo dampers/eibach springs setup.Out on the track though with them wound up to the hardest they will go, are soo much better than the previous setup ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

I run a.p coilovers. Researched different brands and for what I paid they are damn good. They aren't the most expensive but certainly aren't the cheapest. The ride is certainly firm but at the same time pretty well damped. Body roll is minimal but it allows you to feel everything that's going on. Tbh it's very hard to get a good in between set up as our roads are just pot hole ridden and un even, so where you may gain in some areas you lose in others. As said above sometimes body roll is a good thing, especially in the wet but 9 times out 10 minimal body roll is better. Don't buy cheap shit coilys as you'll just upset yourself. ________________________________________ Team Nile 6Team: 40.2 MPG 5 x a 306 owner! currently abusing type r's in a town near you ™ I truely live for the 306 ® Build date: 29th October 1997 Wednesday's car midweek madness |

quote: How are you getting body roll? The rears on the bump stops Haha is it f*ck it can go another 40mm That would be pointless though. Anyway a 10mm trim on the rear bump stops and she's a beaut. I can still have a full car to As for the body roll it's very slightly but only if your on the limit. Anyway you should be only too familiar with body roll in that vectra of yours ________________________________________ Team Nile 6Team: 40.2 MPG 5 x a 306 owner! currently abusing type r's in a town near you ™ I truely live for the 306 ® Build date: 29th October 1997 Wednesday's car midweek madness |

Bouncing is generally spring rate versus damper rates being out. My front springs are too soft and short so have to currently use loads of damping to stop them going coilbound. It bounces a bit, more on hard corners than anything. I'm not really sure the cheap ones will work well when they get hot. Also longevity would be an issue. You get what you pay for... ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

Lowering a car alone won't reduce body roll and make it handle better, if you don't match the springs and dampers you can actually make it worse. Read up on the relationship between roll centre, centre of gravity and roll couple. Manufacturers spend a lot of time and money researching and designing suspension geometry and damper & spring rates before they send cars out to the dealers. If you want to improve your car's handling without compromising the ride, buy OEM. ________________________________________ Ph1 306 GTi 6 | RX8 231 S1 | YBR 125 Cafe Racer | MT-03 660 |

I want an estate that will carry all four of us to the south of france or germany in a day in real comfort and safety but also get 30+mpg and have over 300BHp. Also be a track car when needed and have something about it I like. Not asking much eh?! So its currently a V70 T5 (2001). Had a pretty quick 306 and I did like it. Not big enough any more. ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |
