I changed my lambda a few weeks ago, used to barely get 300 miles to a tank. Since last filling up i've done 200 miles from Blackpool to Glasgow, 9 journeys to work and back at 11 miles round trip of mixed NSL and 30mph roads and still have a quarter tank left, so maybe another 50-60 miles. Happy days.________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Most I have seen is about 360 miles to a tank but i don't really care about the miles per gallon, as you say it's about the smiles per gallon! As it's not my daily driver, it gets abused when out and filled up bout once every 2.5 weeks! If I want economy then I take my astra diesel and fill it up with the fuel card, making it perfect for darting up and down the country pickIng parts up for the rallye! |

Towards the end, was getting about 280 per tank no motorway driving and just driving with pace (not hooning)before getting low enough to fill up, when 55l would brim it again.Early days yet, but looks like I'm getting 250 miles per tank on the 540 with the same journey. But that is with the range going down to zero... so in reality I guess I've lost about 80 miles per tank? |

I'm exactly the same Nev. 250 miles My old 6 got about the same but on a long run on the motorway it would see the best part of 400+ miles. ________________________________________ Less than 24 hours to go! |

My old Rallye used to average about 30mpg until the remap and mods went on when I would struggle to get 22mpg. I only ever did short journeys in it and generally they were all cross country as well On track it would dip into single figures. Does it really matter though now? Seeing as the OP is banned? ________________________________________ Team "310bhp/tonne"Team "Old Skool Kool" Team "Faster than a standard 6. No really, both of them are" |

I probably get the worst MPG from my 6, but as Im paying about 75p a liter its alright! It has an LGP conversion...not as efficient as petrol, but a darn sight cheaper! Although you have find a station that has it etc |

Fuel light came on and i put £20 of optimax in and was dissapointed to get 75 miles before fuel light came on again! Refueld with £10 standard shell fuel and got 35-40 miles!!! WTF!!!! i drive mainly on A roads and dont thrash it about just a little bit of K&N 1ce or 2ce on a journey! At this rate i will be getting a stupid diesel car. ________________________________________ DIABLO GTI-6 - Legend - NILE GTI-6 - SoldCHERRY GTI-6 P1 SUPERCHARGED - Broken up BLACK RALLYE - Sold 205 Dturbo xud9 work horse - Dead CHERRY RALLYE - new toy |

That will ruin your mpg if it's gone f*cked. Try filling the tank and conducting the test rather than sticking pennies in the tank. The light varies when it comes on and if barely topped up it'll come on quicker than a float that's had a full tank sat on it for 300 odd miles rather than filled then sloshed around a corner at speed. ________________________________________ Black X Reg PIII.VGTi 6 A4212 pt 1 A4212 pt 2 Searching the streets of Bristol for 1.36p/day.Joint Kent Leader |

teamsix wrote: More like june july time. As for my question? Yes thats right. I would get 60 odd miles to £10 and 120 miles to £20. Not now though. I thought bout the lambda but prob is not that so i will be taking the K&N off soon and replacing with standard. I wish i had the money to just go and fill my tank up with fuel for the sake of a mpg test but i cant actually afford it as im now paying a mortgage, loan and overdraft. £70 to fill up??? No chance! ________________________________________ DIABLO GTI-6 - Legend - NILE GTI-6 - SoldCHERRY GTI-6 P1 SUPERCHARGED - Broken up BLACK RALLYE - Sold 205 Dturbo xud9 work horse - Dead CHERRY RALLYE - new toy |

Reserve light on. put in £40 standard unleaded. needle went to ¾ tank. 36 hrs and 170 miles later (140 motorway, 30 city, back on reserve.not sure of the maths regarding mpg but does seem low compared to what u guys are reporting buy im assuming those are mostly motorway cruise mpg. i was ripping it however...and can i say it was totally worth it. the 6 is meant to drink petrol. that's why we put petrol in it, for that pleasure...Not to get you from A to B and then to C and D as slowly and economically as possible. but to get you from A to B as quick as possible and if you still need to get to D, put more in. |
