This engine is going in to my Buggy that I use for comp safari events to replace the very lacking in the torque departnment NA MR2 engine and gearbox that is in there at the moment.
This engine has come out of a x reg 406 coupe and it is the later, slightly more powerfull D9 engine. The first problem is finding out if it is multiplex Wiring or not, I keep hearing different things from all D9's are multiplex to none are multiplex until 2002 and everything in between!
I had to make a decision this morning weather to go with this engine or have the earlier D8 and tried to find out about the multiplex wiring last night and this morning but got no replys, this morning I rang a peugeot dealer who had the vin number off me then said it has the earlier key so is not a multiplex but then said oh hang on it says here it has a Something with 3 letters I can not remember the name now but what ever it was would suggest it does have multiplex so he said he was not sure. Also the indicator stalk center boss looks the same size as the earlier d8 ones and the later peugeot 407 has a bigger one.
All very confuseing maybe it was built using what they had left
