Picked up a few new parts today from Pug,so thought I would fit the engine mount in a spare hour this afternoonThumbs up

When I took off the bracket on top of the mount I could feel some movement in the mount and presumed it was loose Roll eyes ,but it was tight when I came to undo itDunno
Got it off and thankfully no welding/repairs required to the common spot where they crackWink
But what I did find was the mount was cracked and the lower stud was loose in the mountThumbs down

Minor surface rust rubbed down and treated:

Then gave it a quick coat of Smoothrite:

De-rusted the big washer and put a coat of waxoyl between washer and body, and washer and mount when re-fittingThumbs up

Old mount compared to new:

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fecking temperamental.

Finally got round to fitting new clutch/cable etc and a different box due to mine having a rumble at idleWink

Clutch is now very light and judder free Cool and I can feel the benefits of the lightened flywheel tooThumbs up

Slightly damp around no1 main bearing cap so I replaced the crank seal and the two little hockey stick sealsSmile

While the sump was off I thought I might aswell stick a set of ACL big end bearings in,old bearings

Old and new flywheel, pretty sure the flywheel was the cause of my judder, looks like its got high spots?Dunno

New clutch/flywheel fitted

Old and replacement/painted up box going in

De-rusted release arm and painted, new bushes fitted

Bought a Compbrake quickshift tooThumbs up

Old standard Pug ball on gearstick was cracked when I stripped it down:

Quickshift built up:

Great piece of kit thisYes Also fitted metal gear rodsThumbs up

What is it like to drive with lightened flywheel compared to standard? Road driving rather than track driving.

I love the red car with gunmetal C5 alloys - exactly what I was thinking of for mine. Missed out on a set recently and am still looking.

They are long goneWink

Not done much recently, running like a dream and taking its daily thrashing really well!Cool

Fitted a new Lambda which has made the power delivery smoother, and had the collars on the Compbrake Quickshift welded to the gearstick as they kept coming looseRoll eyes

Have got some front hubs here to strip down,de-rust in a bath of Deox-C,fit new bearings and paint up.Wink

Treated it to a good wash and coat of AG HD Wax today as the weather was half decentSmile
