Finally done abit more today Smile

Last day of my two weeks off work,Nicole had tonsilitis first week I was off,and I had Man Flu Sad

So dry weather today and not too cold thought best do abit Wink

Got both side skirts on,rear arch liners in,cambelt and water pump fitted and covers.

Got the head and cams/covers fitted few weeks back Wink

Head refurbed, light skim,2 new inlet valves, valves re-seated,8 new exhaust valve guides, new stem seals:

Sills with top coat on:

Re-painted skirts fitted:

Modified the snorkel air intake to filter to make it more of a 'ram air' type intake:

Oh yeah and refurbed calipers, rusty old unloved 12 year old calipers:

Pic below is after leaving them soak in Bilt Hamber Deox C,brilliant stuff that is:

Painted up:

When I bought the Rallye the head/cambelt etc was stripped off it allready,so thought I best check the crank pulley had not slipped after reading it was a common fault, glad I did, check out how far the standard pulley has slipped, would have made a mess if I had timed it up with standard pulley:

Smile

Kev that looks great. Did you dispense with the rear exhaust heat shield?

In respect of the deoxc - what "mix" are you using? Ive just got some to do my rusty bolts in, at 1 : 13 it dont touch them, just re-done them 1 : 7 and its no more effective than soaking them in vinegar - and that wish wire brushing them halfway through the 24 hour soak cycle....

This car had never been undersealed by anyone, had to remove small areas under the arch areas that water had got behind.
The boot floor was powerwashed, then scraped/wire brushed any rust off.
The standard paint/protection on the boot floor etc is poor Sad

Mixed mine at 20 to 1 Unsure and worked spot on,as you can see by my calipersWink
They were soaking for about a week thoughBig grin
Removed the heatshield yeah,as the Magnex back box is alot thinner than the standard one,so its nowhere near the boot floorWink

The rivets are a pain, they are alloy but the centre pins in them are steel,so when your drilling them out the drill wants to slip off the centre pin onto the alloy Sad
The plastic clips that are right at the rear end of the skirt are NLA from Pug,so try not to break themWhistle
The other clips that slide into little brackets on the skirts are still available Smile

Great job with the car!

Would you mind telling me how much rust bullet and non drip gloss this required?

Did you just take the closest match to Cherry, or have the gloss mixed up specifically?

As above, the red gloss is just bright red off the shelf paint Smile

Its abit brighter than the cars paint, but you would never spot it in the flesh cause its under carLOL

I've used just about 2 1 litre tins of gloss,about £8 a tin.

The Rust Bullet is expensive, was about £50 for a ltr tin IIRCCrazy

Only used that on areas that had been rusty or were bare metal, had it here to do my Evo anyway, prob used about ¾ of a ltr on RallyeWink
