Basically, yeah Laugh

From what I heard from Carl, its still leaking fuel and suspects its something to do with the rail. So might have to get rid and put a skanky one back on.

Got the train over to Leicester today to collect my car from Carl's, cheers for getting her sorted out Thumbs up

On the walk from train station to CG Cars, nearly got distracted by this shop..

Whistle Laugh

Felt wierd driving it back, and very paranoid. As I was coming through Leicester a guy stops at side of me and informs me that none of my brake lights are working. Great, guess I did miss something out when removing and refitting the dash. I've probably broken it, as I dont remember having to unplug anything. ffs Roll eyes

So this made the journey through busy city traffic quite worrying thinking someone would probably crash into the back of me Laugh

Oh and it also seems like it also has it wierd hesitation issue, but idle seemed spot on Unsure Its when you try and accelerate from low down in rev range, doesnt have to be putting your foot down much. Seems like it splutters and holds you back a bit, then goes and car seems to go well after that. Probably take it back to Carl's again!

Oh and the boost gauge just gives you another thing to look at and think "is that right? should it be doing that" LOL

Idiot/Newbie content ahead...

Looking at removing some of my wiring that I dont need in the car (not for weightsaving, just to tidy up). Am I ok to just cut out the bits I dont need?

For example, the 4 wires that runs along roof to a connector for rear interior light. I have removed the light so cabling may as well go to.

Also removed the front interior light. Could I use some of those wires to provide power to light my boost gauge?

Yes

Although I think a better power source is the light for the ash tray as this is only on when the lights are on.

So today I decided to go out for a bit of a drive in this and head over to my mates garage. Wanted him to put it on diagnostics to see if anything showed up about my issue. Still happening where it wont let me rev for a second, then clears and goes Unsure

Showed up an intermittent lamda issue which makes sense to be honest as it only happens from lower down in rev range. I think the lamda doesnt work on wide open throttle, so lets hope its that Yes

Also got it on the brake rollers to weigh it, a lot more than I expected 1230kg with driver that weighs 92kg. I dont know how accurate they are but its like 100kg more than where it was last weighed.

Bit close...

Then as the weather was nice, we gave the cars a clean and went for a nice little drive Cool

Check for leaks before the lambda and if you have a cat check that too.

Serious mate?

I dont have a cat, but I do have one dodgey welded up exhaust. The manifold/exhaust flange snapped and got welded up badly by 2 welders. Think its that come undone?

When the issue happens, my foot is down on the pedal, and nothing, doesnt let it rev, then after a second it clears and goes like s**t off a shovel Laugh

Have a look at it for leaks. A knackard fire ring caused me to get intermittent lambda faults on peugeot planet.

My symptoms were while driving on part throttle, it would back off as if misfiring then work. Next time it's on the diag, you could also look at the coolant temps to test the CTS.

Cheers Craig Thumbs up

I was concerned about the welding (it looked shocking) but told me it would be ok.

My guess is this. Same symptoms as you. Kinda splutter/misfire and holding the revs Yes

I plan to get the exhaust removed saturday morning and take the downpipe to a local exhaust place and get them to make me a new one to same sizes etc. Lets hope this solves the problem and I dont have to buy a new lambda after that Smile

Few things going on with this at the minute (still trying to get it all sorted so I can get it on a track asap)

- New seats and side mounts bought (pics to come)
- Exhaust was removed at weekend and downpipe been sent to a friend so a new one can be made (cant be bothered with that s**te one falling apart again)
- Hopefully get downpipe back at weekend, so can refit and drive over to mates unit for seat rails/bars to be welded in, and cage plates.

My week will be spent hassling my mates to get these jobs done Laugh

New seats pictures. Just need to put my order in at Rally Design for seat mount kits, harness eyelets and bolts.

Another bonus is the old seat and subframe is 15.2kg, this seat and side mounts is 7.6kg Cool

Been a while so time to start the update process again...

Still lots to do, but will start making some progress over the next few weeks Smile

Firstly, decided to attempt to sort the bit of carbon trim in my centre console.

Cut to size, and hole cut out for my buttons. Then glued together.

And then fitted. Probably should of got some tigerseal or something, but superglue will do for now. Just need to clean up the bits that spilled out..

Next up some mock attempts of the new seat fitting. Cant fit these just yet as need new harnesses and eyelets welded in for new harnesses etc.

Decided to go for those OMP base mounts. Heavier than the weld in rails I was going to go for, but this is easier, and one less welding job.

Engine bay sort out/tidy up I removed the remaining aircon pipes that went along bulkhead behind the engine. That wasnt easy with engine still in, but got there with some man strength and bolt cutters Laugh

b**ch to get to!

Bye bye

Also fitted the other heatshield I had, got rid of a fire risk, and tidied up the bay a bit more Smile

Next up is the new downpipe. Been without the car for a few weeks now while a friend of mine gets the downpipe sorted. For those following the thread, you will know that my Powerflow downpipe snapped at the flange, and had to be welded back together. Due to some rubbish about it being 2 different metals, the welding companies I took it to were unable to weld it Unsure

It was welded up, but looked awful and looked like it would break again. It didnt break, but the weld isnt good enough so its f**king up my lambda reading and causing the car to not run right.

I opted to have a new downpipe made. I was getting a bit worried as got a call saying he had issues with the pipe/tube bender so had to weld several sections together. I am happy with the result, but for time being had to refit the crap one as the flange isnt right and doesnt have the bit to put the fir ring into. FFS, will get there eventually.

A few pictures...

Aiming to get that back again soon so the car can be back at full stength Big grin
