Few more little bits, getting there slowly...

Battery relocation kit, thanks Mr Crowther Thumbs up

And a few of fitting part of it, cutoff switch etc to the dash. Might as well do that while dash is out, may make it easier.

Also bought a tow strap and a shiny fuel rail to replace my shitty one thats gone rusty. Cheers ADP Thumbs up

Plans are to get the dash etc back in this weekend. Then need to get the car fixed, and get the rollcage sorted out.

You have put your cut off switch upside down compared to mine, might swap mine round like that as mine catches the headlight adjuster switch.

Yeah it did just catch other way. Mine goes from there, to south pointing in other position (if that makes sense)

Ignore my PM mate, it does reach, just looking at the cable when it turned up was like "that aint going to reach...surely?" Laugh

I have no idea what to do with the pull cable though. Yes I know the pull bit attaches to the scuttle, but where the f*ck does the other end go? Laugh my ass off

Through bulk head into the car then the end of the cable goes through the hole in the cut off key Laugh my ass off

Starting to remove skanky fuel rail to replace with shiny one..

I thought that as my fuel pump wasnt working, there would be no fuel in rail etc, wrong! This meant I got a load of fuel come out after pulling out the first injector. Super unleaded + cuts on hand = slight burning Laugh

Neck has been giving me trouble over last few days, so gave up after about 10 minutes.

I'm not sure how you get the fuel pressure regulator out (I have removed the metal clip thing) should it just come out now? Don't want to break it.

Removing the fuel lines from the rail was a pig too! They seemed to be on f*cking tight, so cut them off Laugh

Fuel pressure reg is a bas**rd to get out. Its only a push fit with a rubber seal round it, but after years of use and heat cycles, its normally stuck fast in there. Try some wd40 down the edges, but clean it off the rubber seal once its out.

Thanks Matt, will give it a try!

Same issue with the fuel lines. Years of been heated up by engine etc, crushed by jubillee clip meant the hoses were formed into that position, and they didnt want to come off for shit Laugh

Fuel pressure reg is now out, just need to fit it to new rail without damaging it! Laugh

Aim to get it sorted out tomorrow and get the dash back in etc. Busy weekend on the car! Its getting to the point where I'm starting to get fed up with it. Lots of hours going into it, and still not able to drive it. It will be worth it, must stay positive! Unsure

Gave the car a 5 minute wash. Once over with a bucket of water and dried with a microfibre towel. Doesnt look too bad considering how easy it was Cool

Also put the new tow stickers on and already dont like them Laugh

Also managed to get the new fuel rail fitted. Just need to fit my other manifold heatshield and remove battery and will have quite a tidy engine bay.

Sweet Cool

Right cant get my photos to work off my dads camera for the tow strap, Keeps saying invalid image when i try to upload them to the computer so:

1. Remove your bumper
2. Cut off tow eye with grinder
3. Smooth edges where you have cut tow eye
4. Where the tow eye is welded to the chassis there is a hole between the two tow eye legs, using a short 13mm bolt put the bolt through the tow eye then through the hole
5. on the chassis leg there is a rectangle hole where you should be able to see where you have put the 13mm both through the side, fit a 13mm nut inside the chassis leg on the end of the bolt.
6. Tighten up tight!
7. Refit bumper feeding tow strap through tow eye hole
8. Wala!! Job done Big grin

I will get a some photos on my camera at the weekend if this guide doesnt help Laugh my ass off

Right then, little update.

Got the AA out today to see if they can sort my fuel pump issues, and if not take it over to Carl for me. They sent out a mechanic in a van, and after lots of testing with a multimeter he found an issue with the wiring on the inertia switch. So with this sorted, the pump primes Hyper

Now the bad news, as the pump primed fuel starts p**sing out of the fuel pressure regulator Sad

Bear in mind, this was swapped over the other day when new fuel rail went in. The FPR is tight in, and the mechanic removed and checked the O ring etc, seemed to think it was fine, but still p**ses out fuel.

So a truck is sent out, and off to Carl it goes Wave

Don't mean to spam your thread Chris, but thought I'd stick my oar in.........

Surely a single 13mm nut and bolt won't be strong enough to take the strain of towing the car with the tow strap?

I may be wrong, but I wouldn't have much faith in it, when compared with the original.

I'll happily delete my post if you like, just thought I'd mention it.

No worries Stu, its a valid point and something I thought myself.

I saw that Carl Chambers has fitted the same tow strap, so was going to ask him how his was fitted for a second opinion Yes
