The wheels, not even sure what they are, not looked yet. They're 16's so if they're a decent weight i'll just get them shotblasted at work and powdercoated at my mate's. I need 16's to clear the 4 pots that are going on and the lasers will be going to my brothers HDi.

Yeah i've had it 7 years and i don't really feel the love for it anymore. Was tempted when China Vagina came up to get rid but I was on the way to getting the TVR. Then I returned to the track and decided I couldn't do without lol. What I make from the Rover I should cover 90-95% of the Rallye build, so that's my main aim.

I actually get to see it for the 2nd time tonight having dropped it off at home a week ago tomorrow.

It's due a full safety check of all nuts and bolts, and needs waterproofing as it has no aerial and a hole in the rear window where the wiper lived.

Yeah the HDi is piling on the miles again at the moment, takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

Can't wait to get stuck into the Rallye. It's been a long time with the Rover but needs must. Couldn't bring myself to track the Cerbera (although insurance covers it!) and I thought i'd rather build something dedicated.

Haha only just noticed this. Glad you enjoyed it, noticed you disappeared for about quarter of an hour lol. It didn't do bad for 4 mismatched budget tyres on ghetto rims! I don't honestly know WTF the previous owner was thinking but good to have a second opinion.

The master kill switch comes in very handy when i'm away, however I really need to weatherproof it as it had icicles on the inside of the roof last time I saw it. Rover stripping seemed to generate more than the target so i've been busy buying parts over the holidays but not been anywhere near the car to fit them yet.

Bodywise i've de-stickered it and following the unfortunate demise of CUJ's Bianca Rallye i've procured a replacement rear bumper, a replacement drivers door+loom, some standard mirrors and a few direct replacements like the missing splitter, gloveboxes and the broken time clock. I've also bought a new set of Rallye decals to replace the missing/faded ones from Rick.

Performancewise I have a set of Gaz Gold coilovers, some BakerBM solid mounts, some Michelin slicks and a Hybrid ARB sitting in the conservatory at home.

I have also initiated the purchases of:
a Supercharger kit with the engine (cambelt and water pump recently done - current engine has a none-typical tapping noise, only appears when warm)
VTS box
VTS rack
VTS beam
Brembos


I suspect it will be a little while before I can fit most of the above, not only due to the inclement weather but also because I have other things to deal with and am pencilled in for a stint overseas at a currently undetermined point in the new year. There are a few assets to be liquidated from it when new parts replace others.

When I drove it the only shit things were the coilovers felt a little bouncy on the front end and obviously the tyres are gash. All of which you have good replacements for the ones on the car.

Didn't push it too hard to see where it falls down next but I imagine you would be wanting a LSD to help pull the front round, esp on track.

Why 17's for track work?

Surely a nice set of 15's where you can fit bigger brakes is what you want as it will beneefit the handling far greater than the mahoosive chav 17's will!
