have a soft spot for t16 engines having worked on a few of them, my mate has a converted champagne gti at the momment, has a td04h turbo off an evo on it, and a few other wee bits, he sold it to a lad who bodged it then he bought it back off him when the bottom end started nocking!Cut springs, home made water injection rom the washer bottle and pump haha, bodged boost pipes, and many other wee dodgy bits. My mate had this ex police liason 1.4 1998 rover. Done 140k, still had 1.4 brakes and 1.4 box, had a cracked driver engine mount, king lead kept popping off, drums on the back, cut springs, 12 psi limited boost etc! bodged once again. had brm interior though that didnt fit, and a vitesse engine with probably 180bhp lmao, 2005 kit, and other wee bits. |

yeah please stop going on about Rovers lol i've asked 3 times, i liked mine not all of them, i f*cking hate bubbles!my ultimate aim is to run 330mm brakes, coupled with slicks and the lightest alloys i can. There is no great rush, it'll be at least spring before i even think about a track day, depending on what happens with work and stuff. I also have 4 almost new 17" P zero neros off the Rover waiting for some appropriate pug fitment alloys to make love to. ________________________________________ I'm Si btwNight Blue VW Golf GTD Bianca LBSC Rallye - Track/Road Slag Project Thread Sparkling Silver Mini Cooper D - Super Dooper - (The other half's wheels) |

off topic i know but why does that guy keep posting pictures of random cars in peoples threads?________________________________________ Rich E wrote: With the 306 Rallye the goal wasn't to make a purer or more focussed car. Would a mod mind pruning all the non-Rallye posts out of this thread? Anyway, onwards... NEW BOOTS! Bye bye red wheels, I need more room soon. Looks 10X better, albeit covered in ming. Rear looks high, but it's fighting the handbrake. Have a new beam lined up anyway that will drop it. Yes I know, the borders are horrendous, STFU. ________________________________________ I'm Si btwNight Blue VW Golf GTD Bianca LBSC Rallye - Track/Road Slag Project Thread Sparkling Silver Mini Cooper D - Super Dooper - (The other half's wheels) |

Rear is comedy high!Make looking at the fuel tank and removing the spare wheel etc easy enough though! Got all the parts you need now once you have been to CUJ, time to get busy with the spanners. Need impact gun tbh! ________________________________________ Bang'in 7 gram rocks!I have one gear, GO! |

Those other wheels would probably look a million times better with a decent coat of paint, ie a proper paint job. Not a bad weight wheel though!Picked up the Superlegs over Christmas, travelled up to Scotland to get them for a very keen price. Ford fitment with spacers and bolts in a condition that can only be described as beautiful. Got a mountain of parts to fit, have only just been back home for 24 hours from a month off work so i've done what I can so far. I've also bought some monster stoppers and track wheels to suit. More details to follow. ________________________________________ I'm Si btwNight Blue VW Golf GTD Bianca LBSC Rallye - Track/Road Slag Project Thread Sparkling Silver Mini Cooper D - Super Dooper - (The other half's wheels) |

It needs a damn good machine polish, but no point til I fit the body bits i'm collecting off CUJ sometime this week. Make that 6 AP calipers, 2 Renault Brembos, 2 Peugeot Brembos and a partridge in a pear tree. ________________________________________ I'm Si btwNight Blue VW Golf GTD Bianca LBSC Rallye - Track/Road Slag Project Thread Sparkling Silver Mini Cooper D - Super Dooper - (The other half's wheels) |

I think t* TRE is quite common on the rallye's. There's a red one in Rugby with the same format.Picked up a new drivers door off Cuj today, and some standard mirrors ftw. Got a replacement splitter, some gloveboxes and will now have a working clock lol. It's the little things in life. My aim is not for out and out save-every-last-gram. I'm quite lightweight myself so I don't care to lose every last morsel of weight really. It's going to be a bit of an animal when it's done I hope, I just need the weather to be good when I have time with it and things will be on the way! ________________________________________ I'm Si btwNight Blue VW Golf GTD Bianca LBSC Rallye - Track/Road Slag Project Thread Sparkling Silver Mini Cooper D - Super Dooper - (The other half's wheels) |

Did a few bits over the weekend. Fitted the top glove box and ditched the ghetto cover that was there. Got the standard mirrors on (well one anyway, i'm changing the whole drivers door to cure loom issues). Also now have a working clock in there. I also investigated the lack of any dash and centre console lighting but drew a blank, confused about that. Got 44000 things to do it seems, and with no daylight in the evenings and no garage for it, it seems slow going. ________________________________________ I'm Si btwNight Blue VW Golf GTD Bianca LBSC Rallye - Track/Road Slag Project Thread Sparkling Silver Mini Cooper D - Super Dooper - (The other half's wheels) |
