i covered them in washing up liquid last time, paint on the tyres just jet washed off LOL i had only just put the cyclones on after i had painted them when i took that photo Big grin

wish i could afford ash's rallye. was going to make a start on this today but i have been in bed all day so not had a chance LOL heavy night last night

work in tomorrow so after that i will make a start on getting the engine out

Looks like what happened to mine. Bent valves causing it to tap. Eventually valve head came off smashing a hole in piston and filling inlet manifold with oil. Couldn't see a thing out the back window there was so much smoke!

Yep new engine... Just in the middle of putting it in at the moment but ran out of time yesterday and top engine mount bush is broke so gotta order another.

well made a start on mine tonight then my mate turned up wanting me to lower his car. was going to turn him down untill he got his cash out Big grin thought oh well if your paying LOL

anyway after that i got my 6 up on axle stands, front end off, oil dropped and inlet manifold off to find 1 little problem:




all inlet valves looked fine except that one Sad the inlet manifold and air filter was full of oil. not going to find out the rest of the damage till i get the head off.

well time for a new engine maybe, all depends weather i can get my spare block rebuilt with all my parts i have lying around LOL

head is totaly f*cked so l will be needing one of them. 1 valve has snapped and made a hole in the piston ending up wedged sideways in the same place it had snapped from.

Fixed worse.

Was the car a tapper, thats normally the end style for them?
