Is the Trpe R the one with a silly top speed like 127 due to the gearing?Or is that a RA? ________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |

had/have a few days holiday to take before christmas so i decided to get some work done on the 205.pulled it out of my mates garage where its been sat unstarted since July! Jump leads, slave battery and fresh fuel were at the ready but she fired up on her own with just a bit of throttle which i was suprised about loaded it up onto the trailer and took it to work... at our new workshops took my tools and toolbox over to work aswell which ill leave there as most of the 205 work will be carried out there. its been sat in the corner of dads garage for a while and really wanted to get it properly sorted so it did! so cracked on and get it up in the air and pulled wheels off, nut and bolt checked it around first which was a good idea seing as all 4 of the carrier bolts on the front brakes had worked lose! i persumed that the thread lock that comes dry on the new bolts with a set of pads would be fine... clearly not! so dug out the proper locktite, cleaned the bolts and put them back together but not before taking the pads out and checking the brakes over next job was to remove the swirl pot and bosch 044 pump which was mounted behing the passengers seat and fit it under the boot floor properly. always got a wiff of fuel when driving which i put down to it all being inside even with the correct fuel lines. should be the end of it now on the bench mounted up under the boot floor. just need add the feed pipe from the tank, return to the tank then connect up the fuel lines to the engine bay. more updates soon.. oh and one of the impreza while out last weekend. ive got hold of some prodrive OZ P1 wheels which ive had professionally refurbed with new tyres and will be fitting tomorrow all crappy IPhone pics im afraid ________________________________________ 230 hp 2.1 16v XU 205 rallye on jenveys Project thread here309 3dr K20 Type R |

I work as a area sales manager for company selling commercial mowers, tractors and wood chippers to golf clubs, councils, tree surgeons etc and we have opened another branch for this in Hampshire. I run the depot day to day currently too :-).I'm not a huge fan of the colour! It has been my mates for the last 6 years and was the first owner since being imported by david Hendry cars. He is the head mechanic at a ford garage along with my bro who's the service manager there too so I know the history. 2 years ago he spent huge money on building the cosworth 2.5 engine that's in it :-) I love the torque that comes out of the 2.5 lump, the feedback from it etc. in short I think it's the best car I've ever driven and you soon overlook the colour. ________________________________________ 230 hp 2.1 16v XU 205 rallye on jenveys Project thread here309 3dr K20 Type R |

next up was to sort the exchaust tunnel out..originally i picked up an 4-2-1 Maniflow 306 4 branch manifold for £30 rather than spending £500+ on a new one. Only 2 problems with it was it had cracks around all the welds and it was for a 306. I gave it to my old man and the next evening it was all welded back up which just left the problem of it fitting a 306 not a 205. This meant i had to cut the old exhaust tunnel out and knock up a new one... that was 2 years ago now and ever since then the tunnel that i knocked up for it has been annoying me. i havent got any proper pics but you can just about make it out in the corner of this pic.. So Saturday i chopped it all out and got 1M of 1.2mm sheet steel to make a new tunnel, then when funds allow i can purchase another Satchshift which should now fit where as it wouldnt with the old tunnel. its still got along way to go but this is the shape all tacked up and fitted, to get the curve and for it to sit fairly close to the manifold i had to make it in sections. Another evening will see it all ground back smooth so it looks much better then weld it all up, clean and some fresh paint. ________________________________________ 230 hp 2.1 16v XU 205 rallye on jenveys Project thread here309 3dr K20 Type R |

Have you got a pic of the exhaust manifold. I'd be interested to see how it looks. Also, I'm glad to see it being put to use. ________________________________________ Ex SC-6Now in a Megane R26 |

Collecting the dry sump kit next week so that will be my next update. It's ready to roll currently but just standard wet sump. Fitted new windscreen to replace the cracked one and have replacement quater windows to fit as old ones have faded. Needs tax, mot and from memory insurance is up soon. Should be doing a fair few trackdays this year though! ________________________________________ 230 hp 2.1 16v XU 205 rallye on jenveys Project thread here309 3dr K20 Type R |
