Top man, had to rip all the nice carbon wrap off mine this weekend while doing the repairs. Where did you get yours from and how much was it?

went to merlins this afternoon and bought a nice steering wheel, a small resovior pot to remote mount it as the standard resovior fouls on the cage. bought some braided rubber brake pipe and some fittings for the job. also the cage padding turned up in the post today.

its dangerous living within sensible driving distance of merlins!

fitted the cage padding, remote mounted the resovior pot and filled the system with 5.1 fluid. just need to bleed the system out again but atleast the pedals got a good feel now.

also today i moved the drivers seat forward abit, fitted the harnesses, helmet hammock and new steering wheel.

shame the parts promised from pugsplus to be delivered today didnt Roll eyes

bled the brakes through today and fitted the mintex 1155 pads on the hispecs but still have loads of pedal travel. gota be some more air in the me thinks.

done some testing on it up and down the concrete track. managed 5 miles so far!! the clocks on 73 now including the mappingSmile everything feels as it should, and i started todo a couple of small test runs, just standing starts to around 40 mph in second, theres now 3 sets of black marks down the farm drive Ninja

then gave it a wash and a polish, thought it looked pretty good out in the sun if i may say so myselfSmile

What's the plan for this car? Are you competing in it or just track days? Or god forbid you've done all this "because you can" LOL

hi ash just read your thread start to finish,

are the grills on your fog lights standard rallye items or costom jobies also is there really more power to be had from fitting the tbs upside down due to fuel/air mix.
keep up the good work

thanks, always nice to have feedback. there standard rallye grills where the foglights would be on a gti.

don't think there is much more power to be gained but sandy recomended running them that way, since they designed the inlet manifold it didnt make it any extra work.

got the brakes bled again tonight, 3rd time lucky... done it twice the old fashion way with a mate pressing the pedal and me working the nipples (ooh) couldnt get any joy and the m/c was still bottoming out and had crap brakes. tonight i popped over to the old mans and borrowed his eezi bleed kit, so much better pressuring up the system and cracking off the nipples, got all the air out in about 5 minutes and pedal now feels very solid. took it up the track again and done some testing. rear brakes seem to lock up before the fronts which is a concern. ive got a wilwood bias valve which i may have to plumb in to adjust it abit.

also fitted the front anti roll bar and drop links back on.

fingers crossed the list is getting smallerSmile

you will need a bias adjuster, as you have now removed the OE one (i assume)

also what pads have you got up front and at the rear?

there isnt a bias valve as standard?
mintex 1155 front pads on hispec ultralite calipers and standard 1.9 discs and pads on the back.

it did cross my mind that it could be because the fronts arent worn in(just fitted the other night) and need warming up to work better.

still probably going to fit a bias valve as i don't fancy going backwards into quarry...

yeah no bias as standard, but you would have had compensators, to reduce pressure to rear.

and as you said, two different pads that will bite at different times,

as it was a wallye the rear compensators would have been in the rear brake cylinders.

Definitely get that bias valve plumbed in buddy, my car was a bit of a nightmare before I fitted one but much more confident in the braking now.

By the way, 1166's front and 1144's rear is a good combo. I'm on standard 1.9 calipers again now and braking is pretty f*cking awesome to be honest!

well a few things of happened since this was last updated. firstly its now tax'd and mot'd so fully road legal.
then with a trackday booked for the 25th of march completed the day without any issues, except for fuel starvation running under half a tank.

next outing was castle combe action day on the 9th april. done 4 sessions without missing a beat and she was flying!

couple of pics from saturday

still getting abit of bonnet flap which needs sorting

and one infront of the older brother 8) (matty_rallye)
