Erm, not really. Rains stopped play.

Almost ready for the engine /box to go back in, then the big build up will start.

New Genuine Peugeot Bumper and bumper grille are waiting in the wings, gonna send the bumper for painting in the next couple of weeks, might send the grille and hockey sticks at the same time.

Aint doing another job like this Ed, it sort of spirals out of control, especially time wise. Saying that, as an office bound person during the day, its quite thereapitic to modge about under cars of an evening and weekend. The wifes 206 1.6 Hdi is in for MOT this saturday and she's already mentioned that it might look better a bit lower... that might be the next project.

those and the 106's seem to be far more prone to wear, cost more too.

Some pics from last nights activity.

Subframe all fitted..

Engine on the way in..

Engine fitted!! ThumbsUp

Tonights willing conscripts..

Mark (with the partially severed finger. LOL) and My lad who was on engine crane duties.

Tonights acivities have been to fill the gearbox with proper Pug gearbox oil, fill the engine with oil, put some PAS fluid in the PAS header tank, fitted the driveshaft hub nuts, fitted the TRE's into the hubs, and got the final bit of wiring loom connected.

One thing im stumped with is the neg terminal off the battery and where it earths.... propper stumped.

Next job is to finalise that wiring to the battery, and get the slam panel, radiator and fans refitted.

Soon be time to fire the old shed up..... Eeek.

There is two earth points on the gear box, just to the left of the lift up reverse cable as you are looking over the bay.

I will see if I can dig a photo out.

Got home from work an hour early so cracked on with more Pug work.

Fitted the 11mm lock nut on the one driveshaft intermediate support bearing as Id lost one and had to get a new replacement. Replaced the main engine mount that i broke the other night - the top thread sheared off it, pattern part rubbish, so i fitted the new Genuine pug mount. Replaced the master cylinder cap with new Pug one.

Then i worked out the routing of the final earth lead, fitted the battery tray and battery box / ecu and chucked the battery in. Even though its been off the car 6 months, there was still enough power in the battery to work the central locking and the dash lights. Popped it on charge for now.

Fitted the slam panel, and radiator and fans, along with the black masks.

Starting to look like a car now its got its "eyes" back in.

All electrics work ok, just waiting for the radiator spring brackets to come out of the de-rusting bucket then i can fix the rad properly, and get some coolant in it.

Bit more done tonight. Like a hymen i forgot to fit the radiator and fan pack spring retaining clips before fitting the slam panel, so i had a very fiddly half hour getting the buggers in tonight, before finally securing the rad and fans firmly.

Then fitted the rad hoses and put some water/antifreeze mix in.

I refitted the front grille and hockey sticks and the OE sticker on the slam panel

Fitted the air box snorkel to the front panel as well.

Looking almost complete now..Thumbs up

Made a start washing and cleaning all the arch plastics - got all new Pug clips to secure them back on with, however im gonna get it running first before refitting them in.

The end is in sight... Big grin
