Roll eyes exactly the response I expected tbh. I'm just not pretending it's as invaluable as it was any more and playing around with bits Smile

Not at all to be honest. It's never been about doing what the purists would want, it's always been about what I want from a 14 year old French car on 145k miles. I'm not trying to impress anyone, i'm not out to win any prizes for concourse condition or originality, I just want a motor that I can call "mine".

I agree the sigma did look sexy as hell when it was all clean and polished up but now i'm of the opinion of "just drive it". Too many potholes and inconsiderate w*nkers f*cking up the hard work I put into making it shiny, now I don't care so much.

Fair play mate, and good on you for doing what you want with it.

In a way, hats off to you Yes

Nope Laugh my ass off

ITB's are still being built up, waiting on some bits and pieces being delivered to make the plenum.

Been weighing up some new wheels too, undecided yet Hmm

The only real work needed is a bit of metal resin filling and making a plenum. Manifold is hit and miss, the bodged "that'll do" way is to cut down the manifold, or the proper way is to get a nice custom made flanged one.

Could do it in under a week if i didn't have other commitments.

Custom manifolds are expensive. i would just cut the standard one and have the injector holes filled in.

metal resin filling and making a plenum? whats that? LOL you can pick a set of r1 carbs up cheap enough and if they dont need much more money spending to fit them then i might get myself some then save for a remap of some sort as the bloke with the 406 sri is taking the p*ss now Sad

There are sliders in the bodies that control the idle, a similar vacuum system to the AVAC one in the S16. The holes the sliders sit in need filling with metal epoxy and sanded down smooth to stop air leaks and you need to make something that the ICV and MAP sensors can attach to aka a plenum. basically 4 straight tubes going up from the injector holes on the itb's, to a housing on the top of them that the sensors fix to. Without that you'll get no idle when the throttle's shut and would run like a bag of crap.

Check Yanni's thread, he explains it all in detail.

Not if you make one yourself or can get someone to do a bit of welding at mates rates for you.
Every conversion I have seen or heard of with a "bodged inlet" are rubbish. There are good gains to be had with a good one though.

Not really liking what you done to the Ph1 mate, always thought without the rear spoiler it would look lovely but good on you for doing it how you want it, thats what its all about.

After feeling your Mum all over my fingers and my toes, her snatch smell is all around me, it's every where I goooo. Oh yes it is.

Cades Eros, the wheels are called. 16x7, ET35, pcd 4x108. Will need spacers which is the only downside.

Don't worry about me getting them, took me three years to start modifying mine! Just had a flick through your thread and loved the pics when it was all valeted with its yellow fogs.Think the 'rat look' your going for now will look best with a phase 1.

Love

Not long to go now. Just need to make up a pipe to complete the vacuum system, silicone the area under the idle sliders, make a plenum like Yanni's, modify a TPS and that's it! Cool

And yes, i know trumpets would be better. And so would a sausage filter. Accoustic pleasure ftw though Razz

no trumpets?! you NEED trumpets Razz

and a proper filter too, you'll loose a fair amount of grunt running those.

I know Mei, it's all cost at the minute. This is the first time i've made progress with them in ages and i've been robbed by those itunes w*nkers.

How much we talking for a custom baseplate and filter anyway?
