Ahahaha i forgot I had all the other pictures on PB. As i said though it's not for the purists, but why should I keep a car the way other people want it?As for the decals, tried peeling off the bonnet one but mustn't have got it hot enough, stripped some of the lacquer off underneath so am just going to paint it black and spray paint it back on with a stencil. The boot i'm gonna be uber careful though ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

I DO actually have an update on this now. Spent the best part of 2 days metal epoxy-ing the bodies to make them nice and airtight, and trying to build them up to match the manifold. Unfortunately i've hit a wall, the silicone hose I ordered is the wrong size and some pikey thief robbed my pack of jubilee clips. At least I have an injector refurb kit ready for when the fuel rail gets fitted.I'd post pics, but they look like crap at the minute as all the nice blue paint I covered them in has flaked off, they were left in the garage all winter and the cold's f*cked 'em. Still to do: order new silicone joiners in the correct size, and stainless clips build and fit the fuel rail sand down the expoxy once it's cured silicone the idle sliders (already epoxy'd in, just adding silicone to make sure they don't leak) extend the butterfly levers make the plenum (got all the materials, just finding time to measure it up and fit it) Hopefully make some more decent progress this weekend now that i'm allowed to work on them in the house, couldn't be arsed with working in the garage with this weather ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Oh and some tartyness because i'm a major tart. Can't have my bodies being fitted without some.. shiny roundy rounds!Getting enough to do the coil packs, cover, cam covers, bonnet catch, engine mount and inlet manifold. Nice. ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

I know it's up to you as its your car (I have done things to mine that purists wont like, but I like it so thats all that matters) but do you regret painting it black? Was one of my favourite cars on the forum. It's not about painting over Sigma. Awesome colour! ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

cjm_harris wrote: do you regret painting it black? Not at all to be honest. It's never been about doing what the purists would want, it's always been about what I want from a 14 year old French car on 145k miles. I'm not trying to impress anyone, i'm not out to win any prizes for concourse condition or originality, I just want a motor that I can call "mine". I agree the sigma did look sexy as hell when it was all clean and polished up but now i'm of the opinion of "just drive it". Too many potholes and inconsiderate w*nkers f*cking up the hard work I put into making it shiny, now I don't care so much. ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |
