Well, I got some new hose for the screenwashers and that is now sorted.

I also got some new clips for the doorcards as they have been rattling.

When I had the driver's doorcard off I noticed that one of the pop rivets which hold the window regulator on had sheared off, so I fixed that with an m6 nut & bolt.

Whilst the door was in bits I also thought it would be an opportune time to fit the 3 phase rub strips which I have had for about three years.

Now that looks crap, so I replaced the one on the wing and the rear quarter too.

I still have the other side to do.

A job for tomorrow, assuming the sun is out.

I still need to do something about the bonnet sound pad, does anyone have a picture of a phase three one installed that you could post up?

Looking good, maybe you should sort your side badges they are back to front :-)

What should they be like?

Some scrote has nicked the badge off the back so I need to get some more.

It's a while since I've seen this, so just re-read it again Big grin still one of my favourite project threads!

I think Pug_306 is referring to your near side badges where the 6 is sat in front of the GTi badge' needs swapping round Wink

Keep up the good work Tea!

Agree with what has been said above - this is one of the great project threads and inspired me to do mine.

WRT the sound deadening under the bonnet, mine was tatty and full of salt so I deleted it with no adverse effects. As mine's a Rallye it went with the lightweight ethos.

Thanks for the positive thoughts chaps.

I stuck the other side rub strips on, badges are going to stay where they are, I like the symmetry.

Could do with some new ones though, all the silver has worn off.

I am going out for a drive in it now.

I've driven one of those. Was alright.
Had 7k on the clock and the interior felt worn already. Hmm.

Hello chaps, I still have my 6.

It is due a bit of TLC to be honest, I got an advisory at the last MOT on brake pipes, a bit of play on the steering rack and a stiff load valve.

Also, I have a snapped front spring which happened whilst Mrs Tea was taking the nipper to school.

In typical Tea Boy style I have decided that the only course of action is a full suspension re build.

To that end I have been collecting a few bits.

I have got;

A Xsara VTS axle with 21mm bars which I will rebuild and fit

A new load valve.

Bilstein B4s

Xsara p1 steering rack (new tie rods, ends gators etc)

BBM solid beam mounts.

and loads of ather small bits and pieces which I can't remember, and loads more on order from Peugeot.

As Welshy says, I am still fannying about with the oil tank for my Porsche, so I haven't started on it yet.

I do need to get the torsion bars out of the beam soon so I can get them and the Xsara front springs off to the powder coaters, then I can at least get the thing back on the road.

I'll keep you informed when I do get started

Well, I have spent literally hours battering hell out of my slide hammer trying to remove the torsion bars.

My arms are hanging off but sadly the T bars are not.

heat and a sledge hammer Smile

Don't know the dimension sorry, but I would try 322mm, standard is 330.

Apparently acetone and ATF (in a 50/50 mix IIRC) makes a great penetrating/releasing fluid. Mix it up and paint it on or get some in a Windowlene style bottle and spray it. May not keep well in a plastic bottle though! I'm going to make some up at some point, just to try it out.
