I can't believe spacing the wishbones forward 1mm can make such a difference, the car is a joy to drive now, to look at the car and see a old 13 year old French hathback, you wouldn't belive how nice and new it drives, bit bumpy but it's so tight and it hardly rattles considering the engine mounts!

They don't have much camber as standard, so a little change can make a fair difference.
Personally, I run f*ckloads*

I'd like to get another bit castor there but there's no space to get another washer, could use half a mm washer at front and a 1.5 mm at back but a 0.5 mm washer isn't going to take the force when tightening the front bush up.
i could always try nudge the subframe forward but if the locating plugs don't allow this they would have to be removed and then it would probably nudge forward slightly.
I suppose i could always get adjustable top mounts and
Modify/weld the bulkhead like midlife.

I love this car! What issues were you having with the steering to warrant changing the subframe and i cant picture exactly what you mean with the spacer washer on the wishbone? Make it to FCS so i can see it in the flesh also!

It was awful to drive, it showed there was too little castor on a geometrey check so
I popped an extra washer at the back of the front bush, bringing the wishbone further towards the front of the car my 1mm if you get me Confused
I'm still not sure yet if it's 100%, but it's defiantly much much better, If I'm still not happy I'm going to try a pair of used hubs I think.
When is fcs?

's gonna be shiny inside and out.

You do know it'll snow the minute you've washed it and it'll get covered in grit and salt/slush? LOL

I kind of understand what you mean, is the washer then inside the slot where the wisbone is located into the subframe or behind it where the little square nut is to locate it?

FCS is around June time mate.

It's Inside the slot, at the back of the front bush.
I need to get geometry printout redone to see what I've actually gained yet LOL

Do let us know, i have the powerflex pbushes to add castor, however i think that because they are raisng the rear of the wishbone the bush has to be that much larger and that may compromise the stiffness of the bush causing toe change, which is even less desirable!

I can't see just a p bush changing castor at all, when you tighten the front bush up it will set it's position, that's why I put a washer at the back to stop it going back as far when tightening.

Sounds like a plan. The powerflex pbush is supposed to have anti dive charactaristics by increasing castor? Behind my level of understanding tbh...

Nick wouldn't tell me much, said it's all hush hush :S but I recognized your car and saw the charger, plagued him with questions about the engine build so I know a little. I'm not sure interesting will be the word Ninja

Hang on a minute Shock

In the pic of the engine you posted, you have a recirculating bit after the exit of the 'charger so this is the high, high boost version with bigger 'charger?

Fair play Andy Clapping
