Decided I'm getting a new alternator for the sake of reliability, it's cheaper to get a new one than break down While abroad or miles from home, and to change the alternator, the charger bracket has to come off and to remove the charger now I would have to remove the rad, it's just easier to have it new now while it's apart I think.
I've dropped my wheels off at " the wheel specialist" there work looks awesome but it's not cheap. And the intercooler
Pipework now been welded up permanently so ready to fit when I get it back!

I'm using mikalor clamps for the silicones, i think there's a pic somewhere further up with some on near the inlet manifold.
I'm only having 3 silicon connectors, so 6 clamps, the rest is hardpiped

Dont use Mikalor!!! Use Jubilee Super Clamps they are of much better quality!

Really? The mikalor clamps look awesome, they're big and have a massive nut on them for tightening

Got my wheels back from the wheel specialist, had them done black chrome and had some goodyear eagle f1 gsd3 fitted, I'm really happy with the wheels:

I've also stripped the rusty bits from the front p/s inner wing and the corner of the floor, treated it, and primered, stone chipped, painted and laqured it, it was the only wheel arch left that I've not cleaned up and as I'm still waiting for my pipewerk to be welded I thought it would be rude not to sort out the rusty inner wing.
I've fitted a brand new alternator as I dont want to have to do that at a later date as radiator, charger and cutter bracket has to come off to remove alternator so I should have a pretty reliable car now.

while i waited for the pipework isorted out the p/s front inner wing as there was rust patches and the others are done so why not, i wanted to take the engine out and do theh bay but its time to get this thing on the road now.

i did it using the same methods as i did earlier and treating it before painting.
then i popped a new alternator on:

got the welding back, its not as tight a fit as i thought to fit and the rad just needed leaning forwards out of the clips slightly:

fitted it and bled the oil system:

intercooler welding finsihed:

i didint want the breather pipe feeding back into the inlet so i got a mocal oil catch tank and fitted it to the side of the battery tray, i had to cut a tiny bit off the top right hand side of the bracket part of the cooler by an inch:

i fitted a phase 2 (i think) facia, looks much better:

and removed the scabby black pillar stickers on the doors, and replaced it with some 3m di noc carbon:

ive done a couple of other bits and bobs, stuck the arch liners on and then the wheels, i got the centre cap badges from e bay theyre genuine peugeot ones off a gti180 and look the nuts! i now have the car on the road LOL, but its not as perfect as id hoped:

the car needed a new idle valve, so i got a marelli one from ecp, fitted it, and redid the timing as i suspected it was out, but im not too sure it was now, i had the car running for 30 minutes perfect while i checked the levels of everything and bled the coolant, checked for leakes eg.
it sounded awsome i was well chuffed, i switched her off and the next time i came to start her she wanted to cut out unless i helped her settle till it idled, and the revs hang afterletting go and it seems to rev high just touching the pedal, then cut out when you let off fater its hung for a moment.
ive had the car out and done a few miles steady, it seems down on power until it hits 5000 rpm where it then goes absolutely beserk, love it, still its very different power to the deisel im used to, not happy with how its running and knowing its not right i tried and tried to find the fault and ended up dropping the car off at pugjims who found a hairline crack on the charger outlet bend i had fabricated, it was on the weak point, on the outside of the bend where it had stretched from been mandrel bent:

im going to get this welded up again at the weekend, in the meantime ive found that the top engine mount has come looseShock so ive put that right also, maybe this helped crack the pipe, i think i need to chock the mount also.
also ive got to take it to have a proper allignment job done not a shitty lazer job as it just doenst feel right, i dont know if its them new parts ive fitted that has changed the car but it just feels unstable, and seems to turn very very fast and could catch you out easily i reckon, hopefully a proper good allignment job will put this right.

I used bilt hammer de ox gel to kill the rust, I didn't think much to the second bottle I bought, it dint seem to do as good a job as the first. I also used a few different wire brush attachments for the drill, and sandpaper.
I then used bilt hammer Hydrate 80 to treat the area and hopefully prevent it happening again!

I went to meet up for work at 1am on Monday in the car and I had alarms going off all over the place. There was a row of 8 cars in a line and before I'd passed 5 of them had car alarms going off lol.

To be honest, it's too powerful to open up anywhere except a duel carriageway or motorway.

Its a beaut isnt it Smile

I live in a very rural area and there are a lot of roads I love blasting down. Most of these roads now scare the crap out of me and it feels I need to re-learn how to drive them Hyper

I havnt really given the car much stick yet, I've had a few acceleration blasts in a syright line but it's too Lary with over steer and the ateering is way too responsive in a shit way, it would be uncontrollable at any speed, I have to work out why before I can enjoy it properly
