There's loads to get, I just havnt had time, there's so much gone on, loads of little things, the towing eye has been relocated and the subframe beefed up to take the towing eye, it screws in through a proper neat hole in the lower splitter, so I ca keep it in the boot and hope it's never needed! My old aircon area on the bulkhead has been fibreglassed up and it looks like it left the factory like that ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

I havnt updated yet as there's quite a lot to say and I havnt had time to do it properly, butill Get it done, all I can say is the cars asComfy driving round town at 1500 rpm as it is at 6000 rpm. The clutch is very harsh for normal driving but when you open this thing up, hell literally breaks loose, the rev limit is set to 6750 so there's a lot of power to gain yet with mapping. When i floor it at 2500-3000rpm Its making 10 psi by 4000 rpm, I've seen 24psi on the boost gauge at 6700 rpm and it's final rev limit will be around 8000+ so it may be quite interesting, especially considering it's running a restrictor. I'm still not sure about the handling, its solid and handles really well but the Mondeo just feels more stable, or is this because I can floor mondeo while on bends eg I don't know? acceleration is unbelievable, it is actually a bit of a handful to keep it in a straight line on acceleration, I havnt bothered with first that's just to set off and when it gets to 4000 it pins you back 5000 and it spins up, I let off the pedal there's big bangs and pops I hit third she hits 5000 she spins I goto 4th then there is traction if it's dry and she throws you back and your just holding on for the ride then. It's not as bad as it sounds but it's a handfull, I can't floor it for longer than 30 seconds at a time ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

that already sounds insane, i cant even begin to imagine what it'll be like when its mapped. if high boost is 911 kind of fast then what is yours??so if you calm the driving down to average car levels then whats it like? is there any suggestion of the insane power when driving normally or does it settle down like the standard car? ________________________________________ supercharged China gti6 - Thu 16th Sep 1999 - sold2010 megane rs250 |

Settles down like a normal car, but the ceramic clutch is very harsh and is always reminding you it's there, other than that it's happy round town at 30 and has enough low down pull(1500) to accelerate around town safely without everyone thinking wtf is going off ![]() that tunnel at Doncaster frenchgate provides a rather interesting sound ![]() And Ive popped a boost pipe off twice so I'm going to order some more mikalor clamps. ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

Which ones they do loads?I think I'm going to get some more mikalors but in the size below, mine go down to 73mmx I could do with a size or two below. Mikalor make 3 different ones and I'm jot sure what the difference is in them. I'm going to get it back on stands soon and clean it up underneath as it's loppy with the winter roads, I can also hear a rattling developing from the back end somewhere so I need to have a look at that, car needs a proper good clay and polish eg, I want a new windscreen and I want to have a play with the boost pipework to try and improve it and make it impossible to leak or blow any more hoses off. I also think I'm leaking a slight bit of boost from the injector seals, this will be due to my painting of it, next time I need to mask off better, I also want to check the exhaust isn't leaking anywhere as it seems to have gained noise from around the Downpipe area. When it's on stands I can get some good pics of rich's engineering that's gone into it for all to see. I still also think it handles strange altho it does grab the road, I don't feel as confident in it as i should do, maybe I'm not used to it, everyone that has driven it says it feels like it should but I can sense Somthing with it. hopefully my new bulkhead heatshield will be here so I can get that fitted, my other is a fire hazard thinking back to when richw posted pics if his glowing manifold while on the rollers ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

Know what you mean about the winter roads mate ![]() On greasy roads Ive had it loose traction higher up the rev range, like top end of third when changing etc. Mine is only a piddly low boost so cant think what yours will be like ![]() ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged ![]() 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

Hi chaps, sorry about my lack of interest at the moment, I have quite a lot on workwise and spend my spare time pretty much shagged, for example today I could of got things done but went back to bed instead. It popped a boost pipe off again a few weeks back so while it was in the air I thought I'd nip up that oil cooler as it had a slight drip, I couldn't leave it at that so I nipped it again and snap ![]() Anyway the cars now on stands and the bumper is off, the old oil cooler is off and I've got a new one sprayed up black hanging in the garage waiting for the paint to harden off! I will be fitting it and refreshing the royal purple oil and filter Next weekend! But I need to put some more time into the boost pipework as it's blowing the pipes off, I need to get some beaded ends welded on to the pipe ends again, and I'm thinking of trying the bellow hoses from viper motorsport to replace the hump ones I'm using at the moment, im hoping these will take up any engine movement that happens at high revs at gearchanges. I need to get round the back of the house again to get it cleaned and polished up, my drive is too dusty at the moment to do any detailing on it, and the car is disgusting at the moment, looking at all my nice clean pics above I'm regretting using it over winter but I needed to run it in and that's what's been done! ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |
