Also have an idea on the RS engine cam advance now so will post photos tomorrow. Just to give others an idea of how to get an extra 10 odd lbft for nothing.

There is a very interesting post on the 406 coupe forum about cambelt kits and the tensioners. Depending on what size water pump your engine has fitted, you can mod the water pump slightly and this allows you to use the later - more simple tensioner and im sure its cheaper. I can did out the links if it helps. I have fitted a later set up to an early engine and it works and is a doddle. tesstuff wrote: Whilst doing my 205 Gentry V6 we had the exact quandry as you regarding the cambelt kit for the older engine costing loads more than the later one. I couldn't see why it was such a difference and why i couldn't use the vastly cheaper newer engine kit. Well after a lot of research we did indeed use the newer one and saved a fortune You need to make a modification which allows the newer bigger part fit in the older smaller space. I did the research but i didn't do the actual work on it. Mine was done by markrallye from this forum, so pm him for exact details. beat ya ________________________________________ How to do a clicky: click here remove the space between [url & = |
