Another small update:

The solid lower mount has completely transformed the car. Sure its a bit noisier and you get more vibration, but its soooo much better to drive now. The hesitation has gone as well. Those brakes are seriously good too. Amusing sparks coming off them at night too LOL

crikey do those brakes haul up!! Blink

still never "feels" that quick because a) its so smooth and has such a wide band of torque, and b ) still no speedo Ninja

until you overtake something and they rapidly disappear in the rear view mirror.

Suspension works remarkably well too, I want some LOL

Probably one of the last updates on this thread:

Still had problems with a massive lack of power between 3 and 4k rpm and no speedo. Some diagnostic monkeying about with a drill revealed that the VSS sensor was wired in wrong. Now thats sorted and the PAS pressure sensor is sorted there is no hesitation and I can finally see just how quick it is. Amusingly i've been a fair way off in my estimations - what I thought was 85 top end of 3rd is in fact nearly 100.

Can't stop giggling like a child at how quick the needle goes round. Thats with meirion, jon's beam and a full tool box on board as well Laugh my ass off

The other thing i've done is completely strip off all the vinyl. Been meaning to for ages and now have to give it a decent clean. Also done quite a lot of wire tidying in the engine bay, rerouted a vacuum pipe and the throttle cable. Just got to fit the 205 phase 2 header tank (courtesy of Mei - thanks very much!) and tighten the clutch cable a tad and i'll be fairly happy. Few other things on the list, but that'll do for now LOL

Nah not really, the bonnet came off in about 10 minutes, but the sideskirts took about an hour and a half each!

Wires were all pulled out to find the problem earlier and the clutch is nearly on the floor! LOL

Trust me I try not to spend any time on it unless its really necessary. Been far too long already. Speaking of which hows your car coming along Rikky? Razz
