Possibly the last update on this thread:

Changed the inner shaft end, actually bolted the carrier bearing in place as it was loose and also bolted the bottom engine mount on as it was loose as well. The shaft had no needle bearings in 2x ends so no wonder it wasn't working well. Sorted the other shaft gaitor as well as it was loose, but hadn't been knocked off.

To do:
Speedo still isn't working, even with the right cog in the VSS.
ECU needs to be repalced when I get an unlocked one sorted.
Oil leak need fixing on the rear bank cam cover.
Bottom engine mount needs replacing as its goosed as well.
Nearside front wheel bearing needs doing too.

Loads smoother now and it is pretty quick. I might investigate the cam timing as its a bit lazy below 3.5k then just goes mental to the limiter in all gears (well not first its pointless). Just got to buy shares in Shell Laugh my ass off

It's not over until the fat boy sings....

I thought the 'slight' vibrations were due to the difference in passenger/driver weight when you planted it the other day Wink

Keep it and enjoy mate.

Any bright ideas on the speedo lovely boy? Got George's cog in there now so it should work.

This one is done until I can get a low pressure turbo sorted out Ninja

Everything fits with a big enough hammer.
It's a little taller, not quite as wide though so it'd keep the some weight off the nose.

Now done about 3k on it and still impressed by it. As I am slowly getting to the bottom of all the sensor issues i've had the power and mpg are both getting better and better. Yesterday got 33mpg and I wasn't driving slowly at all, so I think 38-40 might be possible on a sub 3.5k run.

Project is continuing however as i'm going to create an oil cooler for it, based on 205 and 807 parts to keep the costs down. Also going to start using a decent synthetic oil rather than the normal standard semi thats currently in there.

Apart from that i've got a new harder lower mount to go in and then another shaft rebuild as its knackared itself on the subframe again. The mount should stop that.

Would love to be able to get on Combe with it next weekend, but looking very unlikely. Shame as its come such a long way from last year and i've yet to try the ASTs on track.

Update:

Did 1 session at combe and scared Ratboy. Held together rather well and didn't break which was nice.

Couple of things are changing - the BTCC wheels are finally going to a new home on their old car and i'm replacing them with 16" TD1.2s in black. This also means I can run Ash's 310mm brake setup using the renaultsport calipers. Hopefully this will be a silent and rather awesome brake setup.

Shame about the wheels, but its time for a change Smile

Not without spacers and I don't want to use spacers. They are going to a very good home though and at least will be back on the car they should be on Smile

Yes sorry everyone else, especially Ash, but they are going back on to the BTCC car they come off. I think thats where they belong tbh.

I am more than worried about hitting a pothole and then not having one to replace the damaged one. Be nice to have something different on there Smile

PM sent mate

Update:
310mm kit and wheels from Robin are nearly on.
Shafts inspected and slightly sorted out.
Hard plastic/rubber lower mount on.

Inlet gasket is coming soon to sort the oil leak and so are a few hockey stick clips.

Just got the power issues to sort out, but looks like driving to Madrid is probably going to happen due to the farking volcano. Hey hum - 50% better mpg than the Toulouse trip can't be bad

Smile
