Keep the faith!

I know what it's like to hit difficulties, run out of time, hit brick walls and get completely f'd off with a project... and there's that urge to just cut it loose (or set fire to the bloody thing!) but as the old saying goes, nothing in life worth having comes easy.. and you know there'll be that moment when it finally fires up/the first time you really open the taps, the smile that'll creep across your face and it'll all have been worth it. Cool

</pep talk>

PS - if you're that busy, are you going to have time to do those 406 bits for me? Razz Or at least an idea of prices? Actually I'm not in a massive rush, but would like to get them done within next month or two, as a surprise for my dad to get the little niggles on his car sorted.

Ha! They are sat on shelving here in the new unit now - just waiting to have a photo taken and sent to you.

Thanks for the pep talk. Its trying to fit everything in now as I can't use any weekends for a bit. Crazy thing is though its still going to be worth more in bits!! Guess it will be a bit quicker than a 406 dTurbo estate//////

Don't give up that easily!

I know at the end you'll end up buying an other 6 / Rallye if you break it, as you'll miss it...

than what's the point?

Can you buy some low value long T&T shitter to keep you going 'till you can finish the rallye. It would be a shame to give up.

Do you now have a damp and salty benaner? Laugh my ass off

I'm not giving up that easily, just p*ssed off with it. Number of times i've wanted to overtake something doing 40 in the 406 and theres only been a half mile gap in the traffic.

Yeah, but the thing is i'd probably stop doing anything on the rallye. Need the urgency or it'll just end up the same for a year like my 205.

I was picturing a Braveheart speech style build up, with scores of 306gti6.com members carrying 'Live for the 306 (inc V6)' banners roaring in celebration.

Doh LOL I found my Late ZX push type manual adjust cable earlier, I think it'd be the same fittings as what you've got there but might be a different length Smile

edit, how random, its 10mm longer than a 205 one Huh?

It doesn't seem that long to be honest, especially with the current routing. Anyways it wasn't very expensive at all, certainly f-all compared to everything else!

Well i'm going to whip out the shaft to get it re-cut and welded and try to get the clutch cable in as well. Will ask Ray to have a look at the exhaust too.

Just got to try to find the time on Monday! I know its not easy Mei Smile

Although the more expensive option, another RS engine was probably the way forward as I really need another car now.

Very, very tempted to just cut my losses at the moment and break it Sad

Adam, we just went through all you are going through with my 205 v6 but it really is all worth it mate.

The despair we faced at times but finally today after 7 months slog by Markrallye and a seemingly endless supply of money from me , we have an Mot pass and a taxed vehicle.

So don't give up Adam, today has been an unbelievable feeling and the driving is to be honest something i wasn't quite prepared for, it is torque city from tickover in any gear, just amazing.

Your day will be not far away and you will have the same feeling. Smile

Pictures mate, i really wanna see this?

Carl
