I can supply bespoke Lynx Power Engineering Head Gaskets, as used on my car.

The gaskets are MLS construction as per the OEM one, with numerous improvements:

1. Three layer construction - inner layer is stainless steel, the outer two layers are spring steel with elastomer coating. The OEM item is mild steel.

2. Individual fire rings - inbetween one of the spring-steel outer layers and the central core, there are additional 'fire rings' around the cylinders. These are essentially thin, large metal washers, which provide an increased clamp load around the cylinder and a mechanical seal.

3. To give you an idea of the performance of these, I blew a Cometic MLS gasket on ARP head-studs after 700 miles on my 443 BHP engine. I then fitted one of these, which to this day is fine, 10,000 miles later. I've done a compression test - all 4 cylinders are within 3 PSI of each other - which on an engine this highly-strung is bloody good! It indicates there's no leakagebetween cylinders or out of the cylinders,

They are 10,9 grade stretch bolts, as per the OEM type.

As for the studs, it's upto you - they are a lot of money [around

I have now sold out of these gaskets - but should have more towards the end of January.

Plenty of head-bolts still in stock.

Cheers,

Some people have asked for pics of these - so'ive put them below.

The most notable thing is the fire-rings bonded to one of the outer layers, which provides a mechanical seal around the combustion chamber.

I can supply these all the time - all though there may be a 2-3 week wait on them at times, depending on where we are with the manufacturing / stock cycle.

Might be a daft question but would there be any advantage in using these on a standard spec' engine? I'm just trying to make a list of parts I may need in the future and I'm wanting to use the best I can get. Not really planning on any modifications apart from airfilter, lightend fly wheel when its worth replacing, that sort of thing so pretty unstressed engine.

Cheers

I will have more of these in stock any time now - the manufacturer told me the end of January so any time now.

Please PM me when you are ready to order to sort out payment etc.

As for worth using on a relatively standard engine - given an OEM head gasket and bolts will cost you circa

I'm afraid not, I think they are approx. 87mm bore.

It's not an issue though - you can run the HG smaller than the bore size - as long as your pistons don't protrude the deck at TDC [they shouldn't!].

It won't effect 'squish' or 'quench' either.

I have finally received some more of these - and have 4 available.

I'm not sure when I will be able to get more produced for various reasons - so if you need one in the near future, my advice is buy one now whilst I have stock.

Cheers
Rich
