Hey all, just wanting to know whether the rear torsion bars on the XSI and GTI-6 are the same and if so are they different to a DTurbo torsion bar in terms of being 'stiffer'? ________________________________________ Richies Project RallyeElectrical work carried out in Portsmouth jamiek_uk2000 wrote: - Top Tip!!! I took apart three beams last week to build one good one. I measured the GTI-6 torsion bars to be 20mm and the XSi to have 19mm torsion bars. I was told it was an XSi beam anyway! It had discs on the back at least. |

More bar geekiness from me again. I measured the GTi-6 rear ARB to be 24mm and the supposedly XSi beam to be 20mm.I've fitted the beam I built up to my 5-door XTdt, so it's got discs on the back now plus 20mm torsion bars and 24mm ARB, coupled with Xsara VTS front springs and dampers. Drives loads better than before, but that might be because it had dodgy suspension on it when I got it. If you need a pair of 20mm torsion bars and a 24mm rear ARB from a GTi-6 then I have a spare set now. |
