Then I wheeled the 306 out the garage so the 205 could go in to its new home for a few weeks/months. I'm no mechanic (scientist by trade)Swapped the Clutch for a BX 16v Version 205 in the Garage Then I swapped the Gearboxes over and test fitted the '6 Lump to see what was needed for it to fit ________________________________________ TEAM 205 GTi-5TEAM Phase 1 GTi-6 xbox Live tag: SilverGTi6 |

Yay another one Your lucky with the clearance on the pic above ^ I cut the lip out thats pictured and used an extended 10mm engine fork and the exhaust still fouls the body. I'm now in the process of re-fitting the Engine. The Top Mount rubber gave way and sheared off, which i'm taking as a blessing due to it being stationary, and not 100miles away on a track somewhere. FAIL! I'll be using the 306 Top Mount and modifying the surrounding plate to give enough room for said mount. The Bulkhead has also been "fettled with" to give enough space for the manifold to sit correctly, without the need for it to be bent. This is about all i'm up to so far on it. ________________________________________ TEAM 205 GTi-5TEAM Phase 1 GTi-6 xbox Live tag: SilverGTi6 |

jonnyboy17 wrote: Looks good pal... good luck with it P.S.. got any bits off the 6 for sale? such as those headlights The Headlights are very much available. They're a DIY Job though and, i'll be perfectly honest, aren't the best. Both lenses have scuff marks from the previous owner of the lenses and ideally they'd need to come apart again to have the reflector cup closed off (ph2 Bodies with Ph3 Lenses - ph2 have reflective lenses meaning the internals don't need "closing off" to dispurse the light output, where as Ph3s are clear and thus have a "closed off" cup to reflect the light around the lense - sorry for the waffle) You're more than welcome to them for a small sum. If you're interested PM me with an offer. ________________________________________ TEAM 205 GTi-5TEAM Phase 1 GTi-6 xbox Live tag: SilverGTi6 |

If it still won't sit correctly inside the sorrounding plate, i'll probably nip to GSF where they sell them BNIB for a mere ________________________________________ TEAM 205 GTi-5TEAM Phase 1 GTi-6 xbox Live tag: SilverGTi6 |

IIRC the 306 one is too large a diameter on the body of the bush, has to be a 205 one.I would buy o.e or BBM, the GSF one is nowhere near gti spec, let alone gti6 spec! ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

Its back on all three mounts now, albeit only temp, as the exhaust clearance is still an issue. I may extend the lower torque bush mount to give me the little clearance I need, or grind out some more of the bulkhead seal...hmm________________________________________ TEAM 205 GTi-5TEAM Phase 1 GTi-6 xbox Live tag: SilverGTi6 |

*fetches coat* Fair point mate. If i were to extend the lower mount a small amount, say 15mm or so, would this have any detrimental effects on the Oil circulation?________________________________________ TEAM 205 GTi-5TEAM Phase 1 GTi-6 xbox Live tag: SilverGTi6 |

extend the mount 10 -15 mmm, this wil them pull the exhaust off the bulkhead and allow more MC cam cover clearance. I always like to leave the manifold as it should be. Best use a group N lower mount. You will have no problem at oil with oil circulation.Best way is to fit engine where you want it them lay under car and mig weld a few tacks on the mount then remove it and weld it up properly. For the downpipe, cut the upper flange off, remove the part inside the flange, offer flange up to manifold, cut downpipe to fit car, tack weld downpipe to flange, remove a weld properly |

7mm max i extened minem, but thats on a track car that gets ALOT of abuse, more on a road car might be ok, but i had mine just over 10mm and the drive shafts were knocking on trackcut the bulkhead, it's only a 20yrl pug after all accelerator cable i got from factors and cut to length did you unlock the ecu before ripping the engine out? ________________________________________ Do you need a 205 > 306 gti6 plug and go engine loom? I've used the 306 Top Mount as thats fitting snuggly in there, the Torque Bush is a PugSport mount and turns the car into a sex toy at the traffic lights. Thanks for the advice Jonnie, I appreciate it! Spiky - The ECU Wasn't unlocked before I removed it, and in hindsight, knowing what I know now, should have done. I will be sending it off to Rich_W to have it unlocked and the rev limit raised slightly via some Ph1 Software. As for the Accelerator Cable, i'll use the 306 one and cut it down to length if necessary. I'll stick some pics up of the engine back on its mounts later, i'm shattered and filthy from working on the 306 V6 to do them now. ________________________________________ TEAM 205 GTi-5TEAM Phase 1 GTi-6 xbox Live tag: SilverGTi6 |
