I am using the 205 ones indeed

How do the 306 ones fit? I thought they'd be far too long?

They are too long indeed but they fit in the gearbox.

Has the gearbox had an aftermarket diff fitted?

Do the driveshafts only go in half way or not at all?

Did you do the wiring or buy a loom off Spiky

Sounds like somethings in the way...

Spikys a top geezer, v. helpful with any problems that might arrise, shouldn't be any problems though should be plug and play Wink

Just be wary that if that starter comes on with the second click of the key, the constant live and switched live are the wrong way round.
Just a case of swapping to wires in the brown multiplugs, easy to do Big grin

Paul - Not yet, not been over there yet. Been too busy sorting some family issues out.

Cliff - I guess only time will tell but its on solid mounts so movement will be minimal.

It should be alright with solid mounts, mines got bugger all play in it, just reangle the pedal box or take a file to the cam covers (metal/plastic bits)

Well I guess its time to update this thread, its been a few days since I last updated...

As most of you know, i've been struggling with the driveshafts Sad

Not anymore! Big grin

The Passanger side slid straight in, as the strut would come away from the hub on this side. Yet the drivers side was more troublesome...alas both shafts are fitted now!

That done I started work on the Coolant System, namely a T-Piece off the Header Tank

Then I finished the fuel system off completely, well very nearly....i just need a connection between the two feed pipes and its a go go!

Yes its untidy at the moment, but i endeavour to tidy the whole car up once its up and running

Then I fitted the Thermostat housing and the top hose ready to be modified

And finally, I lowered it back onto its wheels! Big grin Big grin Big grin

I'm man enough to admit it was an emotional moment knowing that it is essentially mobile again

Then I just gave the wings a bit of a wipe over as they were greasy and oily...

Right, i guess its time for a bit of an update...

Since August, i've:

Fitted new Gear Linkages
Fitted a BakerBM Thermo Adapter
Fitted the Radiator
Finished off the coolant system
Finsished off the Driveshafts
Fitted new Droplinks
Reworked the fuel system (had it the wrong way round)
Fitted an Oil Cooler
Fitted the Fan Assembly
Fitted the reworked bumper (for the oil cooler)
Swapped the Brakes over off the GTi-6
Fitted a new Brake Amplifier Valve (old one was in 3-pieces)
Fitted and Drilled the bonnet Wink (still awaiting the pins!!!)

Various Pictures in no particular order...

Next up is getting the Brakes bled, but owing to my shift pattern, its sometimes difficult to grab someone to help me do them.

Then its a case of getting the exhaust finished (thanks Paul Smile)

....oh, and its running now Big grin
