Question to Curtis:

Will these AST coilovers fit with the standard Peugeot / Citroen top mounts?

I believe Test donkey said the test versions will be on standard topmounts Ninja

The versions pictured on the previous page should be fine as the threaded section is usually longer for aftermarket topmounts, thus not a problem for o.e fitment.

I'm sure he said he was going to look into the top mounts when he took my shocks away, but that they would normally use the standard top mounts. Not sure how though!

I'll ask him tomorrow when I see him

edit: forgot to ask. He is off to the Ring for the week so i'll ask him next week. I'll know one way or the other then Ninja

Hi,
The kit will be designed to use the original top mounts , for the simple reason that not everyone will want solids!
the adjustable top mounts will adjust camber but will have more castor built in to them also. im hoping to have a kit on a car when i get back into the country next week
regards

Update: Curtis has been in Holland this week and we didn't get a chance to meet up. Looking like Monday for a test fit.

Wasn't there to see them fitted. Fronts are now on, but still have wishbones, mounts and rear shocks to go on. Therefore i'm not going to be driving/testing it hard until they are done.

Ran out of time today so its back in tomorrow morning for the rest. Poor Curtis!Razz

LOL Whistle
Fook me they're good - a world away from the koni/eibach combo from before.

Really show up the rear big time as its a bit understeery at the moment. Maybe a little stiffy sprung for me currently (wheres my slippers), but on their middle damping setting are very matched to the springs. Would be a cracking track/road combo as it is.

Set at about 25mm drop on the front, so slightly lower than the eibachs. The rear has a 20mm drop already which isn't going to change. Also on standard top mounts. Photos in the morning although you can't see much at the moment!

I currently have the Sportline 1 fronts fitted afaik. Thats what they look like anyway - no external reservoir, adjuster on top and look like they are not inverted.

I have an idea on the type of feel I'm after - was massively impressed by a 355 Challenge a couple of weeks ago on the roads around here.LOL

Oh yeah totally, I was talking about the stiffness of spring versus the damping rather than the shear ability. Stunning thing that. Would never own one though - don't get spat at in the rallye.Roll eyes

I'd imagine so if they're custom valving them on the car - the KW's are set more for european roads/track, they've a bit more compression damping than you'd normally use for our roads - probably feel a bit fidgety most of the time.

Bingo, you can have the fanciest dampers in the world, but if they're valved wrong, they won't be as good as some cheap an' cheerful ones with proper settings.

In this case, hopefully you'll get the best of both worlds! LOL

You can also choose the spring rate on the ASTs should you wish to.

Rears now on with new beam mounts. Bloody wishbones had the wrong size ball joints in. They will need to be re-valved as (as curtis suspected) they are too soft even on the hardest setting.

Going back in later this week when i'm not using it to be changed over. Just got to figure out how to make the ARB bolt stop in the trailing arm for more than 10 miles...
