ECU Unlocking

I have invested in the equipment required to decode and unlock the Magnetti Marelli 1AP family of ECU's.

This includes the 1AP.10 as found on the GTi-6 and Rallye, and also the 1AP.20, 1AP.40, 1AP.41, 1AP.80, 1AP.81 which are found on other PSA cars.

The cost of unlocking your ECU is [b]

The S16 uses a Bosch ecu, MP3.2 IIRC, which I do know Wayne can MAP, he has done MP3.1 in the past which is what I'm running on my 205.

Can you do a Bosch MP7.0?

Might sound daft this so sorry if it is! lol

Is this really only aimed at people have modified their cars? Be it with cams/exhaust/induction kits/charges etc or is it of any benifit to a standard car??

The reason i ask is back in the day when i had a honda prelude i managed to get hold of a chip (a spoon one i think) for the ecu which lowered the vtec point ammoung other things and although i was a bit sceptical about it, i was very very impressed. Non of this big bhp gains bullshi*t but it made the car run smoother and felt so much better for it!

As welshpug mentioned above I would be interested if you could unlock a 406 V6 ecu, running bosch MP7.0 management.

Let me know if its possible Big grin

Sorry lads - I can only do the Marelli 1AP family ECU's for now.

I will look into how you do the Bosch ones and see what's involved.

Matt,

These are just standard ECU's - the only difference is they have been decoded, unlocked, and made free running so they can be plugged on to any car without immobiliser conflict.

The purposes of this maybe to replace a faulty ECU, transfer an ECU between cars, or for use in a different car all together such as a 205 GTi-6 conversion.

Nice one Rich, this is what I'd been working on too, but you've beaten me to it! Laugh

(Although I'd been reverse engineering rather than paying for it!)

mabgti wrote:

No, the standard immobiliser on the GTi-6 relies on the ECU cutting the spark, which an unlocked ECU will not do.

However, the ECU can be put back into it's factory 'new' setting and can then be re-coded to a new vehicle's immobiliser via diagnostics. (This can be done directly without diagnostics if the immobiliser code is known.)
