I need to knock up a combined brake/hub cooling duct kit to help keep the heat out of the bearings and keep the disc temps sensible.

I was married by 21, never had any money for myself and when the divorce came through in 2007 I decided that I would do the things I wanted for a while, no way I could justify the money I spend if you had to tell a partner there would be no cash for meals out/holidays abroad etc.

Mum and Dad want to downsize and get a bungalow, plan is for me to sell my place and buy thier current house. That would solve all of my storage problems for good. Driveway is long enough for three cars and there is plenty of room to build a serious garage/workshop at the end of the garden. Would even provide my brother with a place to live too as he never quite managed to get a foothold on the property ladder.
Would be great for all involved if we can arrange it.

Spurred on by all the tasty cars at FCS I wheeled the car out of it's pit today. Ripped all the leftovers out of the engine bay and got attacking the rust with stripping wheels, a grinder and a pressure washer. I'll take a few pics this weekend but it felt good to be doing some work on the car for a change, the rust has taken hold a little more than I thought but nothing too serious (no patching or welding required which suits me just fine) I think I will be on to Bilt Hamber tomorrow to get some rust converter and primer sorted out. But before I slap any paint on I will stitch weld the engine bay and chassis legs. Also I wan't to sort a dash bar and start cutting the floor ready to drop in a fuel cell...

Also placed my order today for some Saenz rods so I can finally put my engine back together. After that things will can move on a little as a lot of the things I need to make still, like inlet mani and exhaust systems need to be done once the engine is in as a reference for location etc.

LOL

I'll have you know there's a big stack of boxed braces here...

...just a pity they're either bare ones for the courier, or need to go down to the powdercoaters so they can get clearcoated with the rest down there really...Doh

Besides, my racecar works Razz

Today, I will mostly be ordering:

1x AN-10 One way flap valve
1x Thermostatic sandwich plate and threaded filter boss
1x Laminova oil to water cooler
2x Genuine Pueugeot oil filters
1x 60 litre fuel cell
1x Fuel filler neck with integrated splash bowl
1x 2 litre oil catch tank
1x Metre 60mm clear fuel filler hose

And a whole shit load of braided hose and assorted Goodridge AN-6, AN-8 and AN-10 fittings and adaptors, bloody mixtures of UNF, NPT and JIC is doing my nut in!

8 week lead time from the States for the fuel tank is a bit of a kick in the plums, as I plan to cut a hole in the car floor and drop it in so it sits as low as possible. Obviously I can get the dimensions from the manufacturer but there is no way I'm going to start cutting the car up till the tank is here and I can see it for myself (I can't be trusted with power tools or tape measures, I get ideas!) Crazy

Wrote the cheque out for the rods today too, Christ I must be loosing the plot.

Cool

Where did you order the laminova from as I plan on getting one from merlin?

I'd also considered getting a fuel cell a while ago but didn't want the weight up higher than standard and didn't trust myself to cut the floor and not cock it up so will be interested to see your effort

Thumbs up
