Well, I fitted my new wheels last night and looks like I will need to do a little fettling to get the clearance I need but not masses so thats good. The only issue is really the front springs will need to be a little shorter as the collars foul the tyre slightly. I've wound them up a little to get the clearance for now but this has altered the ride height slightly and is'nt what I'm after. Hopefully I'll get the brakes etc. fitted soon then I can turn my attention back to getting the engine sorted and back in.

17"x8" with the correct counterbore so I don't have to put up with plastic spigot rings that melt when it gets hot.

Easy to adjust the arch's, the front wings just pull out, the rears are dead easy to roll too

The rears are already rolled, fronts seem to have a bit of clearance too. I'm really pleased thet the rears have plenty of clearance on the inner arches. I was'nt looking forward to having to cut or mess around with them but it's all good. I'll try and get a few decent pics tomorrow.

Here are a few of the car with the new wheels, front ride height is a bit high but it will only stay that way until I can source some shorter springs.

I wish I had the time to work on it, but I just don't get any weekends or evenings at the moment. Plus the lucrative welding contract I had is on hold for two months while they manufacture something else, but they have a 60 day credit cycle with my firm, so even if they start sending them again for welding in two months, I won't get paid again for 4 months Wink so now I can't spend any more on it really until cash starts flowing in again from that job. Bloody cars...

I decided not to watch the F1 today but to do something constructive instead, so I dragged the car out of it's resting place and got on with fitting the brakes. They are Ash's 330mm Megane Kit. Happily the braided brake lines already on the car had the correct banjo fitting for the calipers. (making the set I purchased with the brake kit redundant, bloody typical) Whilst under the car I could'nt help but notice some fairly rusty patches, especially around the chassis legs. So I know what I have to sort next...

I also gave it a bit of a wash as it was looking a bit of a state. Came up pretty nice...

Looks awesome. Cool

Quick question though, are the rotors not meant to be fitted with the grooves the other way round?

I don't mean to cause any offence and I'm happy to be corrected if I'm wrong, but I thought the grooves were designed to point to the outer edge of the rotor in relation to the direction the rotor is rotating.

At the moment yours are pointing into the centre of the rotor when the rotor is rotating forward.

Again, if I'm wrong then I apologise, just thought I'd mention it from what I'd seen in the past and how I was advised to fit mine.

Well done Hawk-eye Big grin Ash pointed this out to me already, I need to swap them from side to side so the grooves face the opposite direction. I'll do it next time the car is out of it's hidey-hole in the yard. Thanks for pointing it out though Smile

looking good Big grin

regarding the disc's, the grooves on the disc "could" face either way, it's the veins in the middle that need to put the right way Smile

I must admit I was going to turn them anyway as I noticed the grooved rear discs were oriented a different way and thought it looked odd.
