Yes thats him, seems a pretty sober fellow but he knows his stuff inside out. His site is chock full of stunning examples of his work so I'm very happy about sending it to him. Hopefully he can wave his magic die grinder at it and turn it into a flyer.Ninja

Just realised I need to send him the inlet manifold as well Doh hopefully I can squeeze the bits and pieces into the bottom of the box around the head and leave enough room for the inlet and cams at the bottom, bugger!

I must admit I didnt, they do have different dishes in them to standard, and also they seem to be finished to a lower standard, I may chuck in my standard valves too and let him decide which look best to use. If he is making new guides to suit then he could always make them a little undersize to account for any wear on the old stems.

Well if progress continues at this rate i may have her all wrapped up by summer, I sent my inlet off to Guy Croft today. In a couple of weeks I should have some nice bits and pieces ready to bolt to my block. Just got to measure the volume ans stroke of the block so he can skim the head for the correct compression ratio and I have to overhaul my oil pump. Then it's re-assembly time...Cool

I got a call this afternoon to let me know my head had arrived safely (of course Razz ) and to compliment me on my box building ability (cheeky bugger) if all else fails I might get a job knocking up coffins...

I got sent an update today on my head, I was told that the porting work I had already done was of a high enough standard that he was left with little to do other than a little more smoothing and some careful work on the short side radius of the inlets (I got lucky there I guess?) he will make a start soon on my new valve guides and valves. I'll update as more pics/progress come to light.

Hard to see where the work has gone in really as its mainly on the SSR of the inlets, with a little tidying up everywhere else.

It wont be having the valve guides ground off again, that was only done to make porting easier.

I picked this up today, not exactly on my doorstep but as these don't often seem to come up at the right money I figured it was worth the 392 mile round trip from Southampton to Lincoln and back to grab it before someone else snapped it up.

As you can see, it's a Stack ST8100 and datalogger. It came with all the sensors and loom, no manual and the speed sensor is broken but that can be easily fixed with a call to Stack I guess.

A quick look at the PDF of the manual shows that there are lots of useful features on this unit like shift light, low oil, high oil/water temp alarms, low battery level indicator, predictive laptime, speed indicator, and if I add accessories like an infra red beacon at the side of the track I can get actual laptimes displayed on the dash too.
Somehow I think I'm going to be getting to grips with a soldering iron and a wiring diagram in the not too distant future! Razz

Brings a tear to my eye that...Sad

And about the Stack dash, I Love it! I've wanted one for years since I first saw one in a Tweeks catalogue, never could justify the pricetag, and still can't really, but I figure you cant build a propper car and leave out important stuff like digi dashes and toggle switches with red flippy covers can you? I mean it just would'nt be right would it? LOL

Yes me too, I'm hoping for around 240, but its a bit of a lottery till it all comes together. That should be plenty to begin with anyway...

I would like to do FCS, but I'm not sure if I can be arsed to MOT the car from now on, it's looking like it might become purely a track car in future.
