Whilst driving i get a slight flicker every now and again, seems to go either marginally brighter or marginally darker... i have checked all connections and all seems well? im pretty p*ss poor at all things electrical. Should i be worried?  |

They are probably designed to do this to make them even more f*cking annoying than HID lights that don't flicker, just blind you. ________________________________________  You feed beefburgers to swans. I once had a mild burn on my retina due to HIDs I wouldn't recommend them  |

Yeah I remember reading that on BBC the other day It's like all these things, we'll find out the true health effects in the long term, but by then it may be too late  shutie, Fletch's accident happened because HIDs don't work like normal bulbs - they're more like miniature arcs. It's possible to suffer a cascade failure which isn't contained within the bulb or the headlight unit (which was never designed/strengthened for HID in the first place in these aftermarket kits) - imagine a cloud of light as blinding as staring at an arc welder bursting out the front of your car! ________________________________________ Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch....Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote. If it's a cheap kit there's probably a poor crimp or split in one of the HT lines to the bulb.________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. Half cages right up to complete custom spaceframes - MSA/FIA spec, CDS, ROPT, T45, etc - PM meEmail me! Custom-made polybushes available - need an odd size or fitment? - anything from batch work to one-off pieces. |

It's basically when someone snaps and just loses it completely. Happened a lot with postal workers who were sorting mail. The job was so tedious that they just went mad, roaming from room to room with pump acton rifles filled with armour piercing ammo.Faulty HIDs can have the same effect. ________________________________________ You didn't see anything. Everydays a school day.PWS can aso manifest itself when driving exessively so that someone affected bythe condition can use theior car as a weapon, often resulting in pain and death for all involved. Aye the article on BBC I read was some study from Cardiff NHS Trust. They found that blue arc lighting (particularly new style office lighting and HIDs in cars which have only really appeared in the last 5-10 years) shows signs of causing psychological damage - one manifestation of which can be "psychotic episodes" i.e. in its more extreme forms, Postal Worker Syndrome They say it's down to the blueish shade of the light, has some weird effect on the optical cortex and causes everything to look more melancholy than it should be. Apparently long term the brain just can't cope with it. Im sorry but this sounds like a right load of bo***cks, im bored at my job as its tedious so im going to pump everyone full of lead  many many many people do boring tedious jobs that they hate but they dont go round shooting people ! And they also believe that HID's may cause this aswell ?!?!?!  sorry but im not buying that shite. Nearly all car manufacturers now produce cars with HID's as standard, if there was even a whiff that side effects such as this could occurr then they wouldn't even bother fitting them due to possible future implications surely ? ________________________________________ Cherry RALLYE |

You have to look at who's behind HID technology. Bosch and Osram are two of the biggest. How much money do you think they make from regular halogen bulbs? pennies per car (at manufacturer's rates). How much do you think they get supplying all the ballasts, lamp units and all that for HID. Much better. And look it's all bright and blue and everyone wants to look cool, so manufacturers are only too happy to fit them and charge a bit more too Most importantly both Bosch and Osram are in balls-deep with the EU and the US FDA - they have to be, as they have those lucrative medical contracts.... So you can bet your arse 1) they'll be like teflon if HID turns out to be the next Asbestos. and 2) they'll probably sell the anti-psychotic drugs needed to treat people that they've made ill!
