i was complete up until a few weeks back.

when i decided to mod the tunnet and paint the bay.

cambelt tonight

then the engine goes back in Big grin

it was at the ring in late august too Smile

next track day 29th dec at donny Smile

only been fitted recently, didn't want to chance it before the ring,

will soon find out if it's ok ..lol

Looking good so far Smile i would be a little worried about those seat mounting bars you have put in thou, there is no strength at all in the handbrake mounting plate, ive seen these crack and come away from the body just through normal handbrake useage, im pretty sure in an accident the strength of it wouldnt be up to the job.

been told a few timesa bout that,

the passenger seat is a little high, so will be chnaging all that, once the car is back together



the cambelt/water pump/pullies and tensioners were all changed last night. Big grin

the old belt was quite loose Blink

Time for a little update, the engine is a little closer to being fitter, just need my pedal box painted and fitted and it can go back in Big grin









swapped the Quaife over into a 1.6 box and gave a lick of paint







Had the valance painted Big grin







Rear hatch painted Big grin






bonnet painted Big grin







Changed my mind on the cabling, it was starting to look cluttered, so moved the fuse box's and relays inside the car now Big grin, as you can see look much better Big grin









My new expansion tank, as the old one wasn't see through, so couldn't tell if there was any water in there, or if it had mixed with oil Big grin





Had the battery tray powder coated, as it was looking very minging..lol










here is my new washer bottle, and the new location for the fuse holder and relays Big grin

well big update, Big grin

Paul has made me a pedal box.... looks awesome too. Big grin

painted it the same colour as the engine bay.

this was the last peice needed so i could re-fit the engine, so 90 mins after assembling the pedal box.

well had an hour in the garage last night, also thanks for paul for popping in after working to give a hand (though i dont think thats was his intension..lol)

309 ARB fitted to the subframe and the subframe bolted in place with STD length bottom arm

well had another few hours this evening, not much left now

tonights work

connect up low pressure warning (this has never been done..lol)
wire up alternator (i've put the gti6 one on now)
route engine loom to inside
fit all the gear linkages,gearstick,reverse cable,new top hats on gear linkages,
fit speedo cable and VSS
clutch cable
oil cooler
some water pipes at the rear of the engine, and to expansion tank
found a new place for ECU (next to exp tank, not ideal, but it's going there)
rivet inertia switch to inner wing
connect steering rack up

thought she is making sort the scaletrix out for xmas, so not all bad..lol

as i have my top mounts on top my bonnet wont shut, do you think it looks crap?

the arch's aren't dry and the pcis make it look worse than it is...

starting to see end of the tunnel now, lomst everything is back on the car

Left to do now

buy a new set of 309 wishbones, so i dont need to rush to make the ADJ one's
exhaust still needs to be re angled to fit the newly positioned ex manifold
screen fitted to the rear hatch.
buy and fit new SRF brake fluid
fix TPS wiring
buy and fit 76mm 90 degree pipe for airfilter
buy and fit std 8v water top hose

I bonded the screen in the rear hatch

New sensor for my new gauge Wink





and the new modified downpipe loads of clearance, even though he picture probably doesnt show it Big grin
